Now I've got questions about Load Far and Preloaded Chunks.
My understanding is that these settings allow the game to load more chunks than it renders. With that in mind, in chunks that are loaded but not rendered, will things like redstone devices working, plants growing, dropped items despawning after 5 minutes, etc. still happen?
Also, how do these two settings interact with each other and with Render Distance? For example:
If I never set my render distance to anything less than Far, will Load Far have any effect?
If render distance is Normal, Load Far is On, and Preloaded Chunks is at 2, will the game load chunks out to Normal + 32, Far, or Far + 32?
If render distance is Normal + 112 (i.e. Far - 16), Load Far is On, and Preloaded Chunks is at 2, will the game load chunks out to Far + 16 or Far + 32?
I'm guessing that the logic works like this (assuming I'm standing still):
1. Chunks out to the specified render distance are loaded and rendered.
2. If render distance is less than Far, and Load Far is On, chunks out to Far are loaded.
3. If Preloaded Chunks is at n, n additional chunks beyond what has already been loaded are also loaded.
Which would make the answers to my above three questions "no," "Far + 32," and "Far + 32" respectively.

When render distance is Far or above then Load Far has no effect.
Preloaded Chunks will only load chunks up to Far, no more. Chunks above Far are only loaded when render distance is above Far as it is quite expensive.
When Load Far is ON, then Preloaded Chunks has no effect as chunks are always loaded Far.
These settings only control the chunks loaded by the client.
Singleplayer uses integrated server which loads and ticks the chunks independant of the client (redstone working etc). The distance used by the server is linked to the render distance used by the clent.
Chunks are processed in several steps:
- the (integrated) server loads the chunks from disk and sends them to the client. These are the chunks that are being ticked (redstone working)
- the client loads the received chunks in the GPU (loaded chunks in debug menu)
- the client renders the chunks loaded in the GPU
Typical use for "Preloaded Chunks" is with slow CPU, fast GPU and staying in a limited area. After loading all the chunks, the player can move inside the preloaded chunks without having to load new chunks.
How do I fix this binary discrepency error from the aul class in the Magic Launcher. It's being weird, I know I had fixed this before with some parameter, I just can't remember what it was.
NVM... I'm an idiot. googled it. -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true are the parameters to add :I
I need a link to a download for 1.6.4 Ultra without the auto installer, because I can't use forge and optifine because optifine makes it's own game version, the same thing forge does and putting the optifine jar into the mods folder doesn't work because it's the version file..
Can I get some help?
Sweet. And btw, Optif. 1.7.4 works perfectly with 1.7.5
I've tried to get OptiFine to work with 1.7.5 by installing it the manual way exactly like I did on 1.7.4 but it crashes. Can you give the details of your installation method? Maybe we are missing a step.
I got it working by chaning the names to 1.7.4, I used the example given in Rei's Minimap. It worked fine before, but then something happened, and it doesnt work anymore. I guess we just wait for 1.7.5 Though they didn't change much in that one, so theoretically is should still work.
Minecraft 1.7.5 uses different obfuscated names, so OptiFine 1.7.4 is not directly compatible with it.
B. Simple
(for OptiFine 1.6.2_C4 and newer)
- Put the OptiFine JAR file in the Forge "mods" folder
- Start Minecraft and Forge should automatically load OptiFine
When all the downloads above 1.6.2_C4 are auto installs?
No it is not true just custom capes for servers not mods.

Every time I use other profile the zoom key get changed to default.
Thanks for this awesome mod.

When will anti aliasing work?
Check if Animations -> Texture Animated is ON.
Take a look at one of the many resource packs that have custom animations, for example Soartex Fanver.
In my minecraft there is no void fog. But in most CTMs void fog must be on.
So my question is how can I turn void fog back on?
I have my Void Particles on and fog on fast and Depth fog on and I really don't know what to do! I am using Optifine_HD_U_D1.
Please help!

Is that real? Mi Iron Foundry is in danger!
