First, install all the features you want from MCP. Then, manually drag the files from this into your minecraft.jar. Once you are done, Minecraft should completely work with texture packs that require MCP, and you will get the features from Optifine!
I've been having a bug with Optifine ever since around 1.3.2. I've seen it mentioned by someone in April last year, but it was never resolved. Anyways, the bug is that some textures are screwed up or aren't rendered. I only get this glitch with Optifine installed. I've tried removing all mods except Forge and Optifine, and it still occurs albeit much later than it does with my 118 other mods. I've been collecting screenshots since 1.4.7 and

None of the logs (MultiMC Debug window, Forge log, MC log, Optifine log) had any relevant errors. Most likely, it has something to do with "E reaching 3500" or something. Here's an incomplete list of almost every other post regarding this bug:
It appears that your fog is set to fast. Fancy fog renders the fog in a circle around the player.
It really helped me with my computer
i had like 7-13 fps
now i have 24-70 fps
I know you fixed the entity issue, but it is also still present in liquids.
Thanks.
EDIT: It could just be any translucent block.
EDIT2: Yup, it's all translucent.
EDIT3: Particles even render behind the breaking animation.
EDIT4: The hitbox of blocks seems to persist a split second after destroying as well.

I can't select fancy fog in my options. Is it that my computer can't handle it? My computer can handle nearly every other setting on fancy.
It's not that your computer can't handle it, just that your graphics card doesn't support it.

Don't worry, friend. You're not alone.
I have a Radeon 7870 in my desktop and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 in my laptop; neither of them support Fancy Fog, but an old NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 supports it. Weird, huh?
Just a quick post with some pictures to show connected textures problems with Optifine versus MCPatcher:
Minecraft 1.5.2 Proper Connected Textures with MCPatcher 3.0.4
Minecraft 1.5.2 Connected Textures Problems with Optifine 1.5.2 Ultra D3
Note the trapdoor texture is missing the handle and the stone slab are not respecting correct weight distribution. Should have more "regular, uncracked" textures as seen with MCPatcher (different layout is normal). Also, note the better glass effect with MCPatcher... Like many people asked in the past, better glass (transparent) support would be awesome.
Thanks a lot for Optifine.
P.S.: The texture pack shown in the picture is Sphax 128x PureBDCraft

Have tried versions D2 and D3, the pack is using forge 712 if that makes a difference\
Alot of the squares on the right are normal vanilla items too, like hopper and such
Restart Minecraft.

Done that, several times, since I needed to so I could change optifine versions anyway. No amount of restarting helps, removing optifine makes the problem go away, not the most ideal of solutions
I've had this issue as well. It has something to do with other forge related mods. Using any forge build from 700-712 and optifine alone no problem with textures. Adding NEI with Rei's Minimap or Voxel Map (Zans) still no texture glitch. After I added in any other mods for example inventory tweaks or railcraft issues start to happen and textures render wrong.
Now i have found a fix and not sure with if works to fix the issue with all the mod textures or not but download any texture pack and change the texture pack when your in a world. It should fix all mod textures. Now you can change back to the default textures and you shouldn't have any texture issues. I'm not sure why but just changing texture packs is what did it for me.
Nice that fixed it, I have yet to restart and try again but I'm guessing I'll have to do it everytime I want to play, no biggie but it is slightly annoying. Anyway I hope a future version fixes this.
