95% of teens would scream if Justin Beiber was about to jump of the top of the Empire State Building. If you are in the 5% that would grab a seat and some popcorn and yell JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! post this into your sig.
The next time someone does this again, I swear I will REPORT THEM!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAGH! IT'S NOT PISTONS! IT'S A PATCH! :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif:
OK, updated for 1.7.3. The update also includes chaining sticky pistons.
That is, the singleplayer stuff is updated. chicken_bones's SMP patch hasn't been updated, but will still work! You just miss out on some of the piston bugfixes in 1.7.3.
I believe the sand/gravel duplication bug is still present, but I haven't checked. I'll see what I can do about it.

It aint in mine. When you are in the sand/gravel entity creation / launching loop just set a flag that says "block on top of sand/gravel stack so no more pushing them" when you reach a block that's not sand or gravel. Then once that is hit don't launch the stuff. It's that simple.

Wow, that makes me feel a little stupid.
Anyway, the bug is now gone! Easiest bug I ever fixed.

I installed the patch and it converted my old pistons and they still work great. My problem though is that I had a few extra pistons in a chest and now when I click on the chest the screen goes black and it says "saving chunks" and freezes.
It is a double chest so I can break half of it and get half the stuff out on the side that doesn't have the pistons. But if I break the piston side the screen turn purple and the game freezes.
Anyone know what to do? I don't want to lose the stuff in that chest.

Thanks for that patch any chance u could also patch so i can change orientation of piston the old fashion way with right click ? Don't really like how its handled now.

It sounds like the pistons in that chest are corrupt. Try to give us an error so that we can know for sure.
As before
jq.class goes in the client
gi.class goes in the server
mu.class goes in the server
No other changes.
I believe the only difference between Hippo's pistons and mine is that when you stand on a sticky piston at acts like the vanilla pistons and doesn't boost you off. Also you entities still get pushed to the regular height when standing on a block or blocks ontop of a sticky piston.
If Hippo were to change his pistons to work like this then my client jq.class would be obselete and I would only need to update the server classes. Saving confusion. If hippo still prefers his with the smaller momentum from stickys then he can keep them that way it's fine.

I support this. It's easy to do but there needs to be a config file to turn it on/off. Also I believe someone posted about changing the distance the pistons push. Would also be an easy fix and would go in the config file. Am debating wether to do it now. Personally I feel that 12 blocks is a little short but there is a fine line between personal preference and compatibility with vanilla. I believe that people should have the option as to where they place this line and wether or not they cross it. If you want any of the above features post and if I get 5 posts for either or I will add.
Thinking my search skills might be made of fail. Would you happen to know how to change the maximum push distance of the pistons in 1.7? I wanted a really long bridge on skylands :sad.gif:
Hate to quote myself but there wasn't even a response to this :sad.gif: Any ideas?

*snip*
In the most recent update, standing directly on the sticky piston will launch you about 1/2 the normal height, while standing on a block pushed by the sticky piston will launch you the regular height. I like the idea of being right next to the sticky piston not launching at all, so I'll include that in the next update. Thanks!

cool! Just go don't add any velocity and the default pushing code will kick in. Tell me when you add this as I will remove the client patch from my upload as yours will work fine

I tried that but no crash report was generated. After clicking on the chest it shows the all dirt background from when minecraft is updating itself with "saving chunks" in white in the middle. Then after 15 seconds or so it turns all black and just stays there
Thanks
It would be a ssssshame if ssssssssomething happened to them.
Give a man a fish, and he'll be fed for a day.
anyone got a better elevator that doesnt use water or sand?
This one makes the piston launch you.
