I never even thought of a mod like this but looking at it it is such a good idea! I checked out because my friends sugested it and they were right that its great!
can you add a "compatibility patch" for bgw4 so that your cultures are able to spawn on the custom biomes?
Regular Millenaire comes with the extra biomes that the ExtraBiomesXL mod comes with, if you post about it on the Suggestions page whatever this bgw4 mod is might be included.
You don't need to know much at all of that to make a culture.

All are giving the same results - find a village, leave a little bit off the map, come back and 1/2 of the villagers are invisible. Fixed by logging out and back in, but they eventually turn invisible again.
Is everyone experiencing this, or just a handfull of us?

Found some glitches. Village furnaces are not locked, so player can steal wood planks, raw and cooked resources freely. Sure, it's nice to get stack of cooked fish, but I think it's not going as planned. When I was stealing cooked bricks from Hindi Fort furnaces I noticed that both raw and cooked resource is "cooked brick". Looks like they turn into that when peasants put them in.

Yes, unfortunatelly, i am having same problem and patiently waiting for any new version of mod to come out...
Having a bit of a difficulty: in my Hindi village, they are currently working on the profject of making a Village Temple.
Resources needed for the project:
Hindu Statue 0/1
Cobblestone 8/8
Sandstone 312/312
Wood 5/5
The 'Hindu Statue' resource...I don't have a Sculptor's House in my village, so I don't know how that's ever going to be made. What do I do? Will it just be stuck on that building forever?Nor do I have a sculptor at all...
Regarding the "invisible villagers" issue - I've been trying to narrow it down, it's not simple. It would help if people who have it could report the conditions: - MP only or SP as well? - What render distance do you run in? - When does it happen? Only when moving away and then returning to a village or even when logging into one? - Any other circumstances you've noticed in which it happens or not

For me:
SSP, normal render distance.
When I return to a villi\age first thing in the morning, I encounter the invisible villagers problem more often than not. Quitting and re-starting (while standing in the village) usually fixes it.

I have been doing a series of millenaire videos on youtube with a friend and we experience this quite regularly.
We started out with singleplayer lan mode with me hosting quite a few versions ago, it didn't appear to happen to me while hosting, we switched to multiplayer only fairly quickly and both of us experience it.
We both run in far render distance.
It doesn't just happen when leaving a village, we can be within a village and over time villagers will still disappear, though it seems that those that do might travel a lot, though the children that disappear I imagine probably don't move far. In fact leaving a village and coming back tends to bring back more villagers again. There are no missing villagers upon logging in that we can tell.
We both experience different missing villagers, one can be visible to me but not to him etc.
Hopefully this might give you some insight into the problem, I can also give you a link to our recent videos if you think it might help.

It tends to happen when I sleep within the village:
In other words, one day I'm in the village, everybody is fine, I go to sleep in a bed within the city limits and when I wake up, it's usually the person who sells things in the town hall that's missing. I restart and she's there again.
But if I restart within town hall, the signs don't work. That's a separate issue.

SP, normal rendering distance, no optifine. Happens very often when i am trading with town hall npc, then even if i come out to next building that npc is invisible already.
Very hard to troubleshoot. This first happened to me on SMP then tried it on SSP and it did the same thing.
Deleted my /bin folder to get all new files.
I thought it might be linked to the paths that they create, so I disabled them in a Hindi village for
indian_adivasipeasant
indian_peasant
//goal=buildpath
//goal=clearoldpath
I thought it might be an action they are doing so I tried testing indian_richwoman //gorest and //gopray, she still dissapeared.
I tried to keep 2 peasants in sight that were tending to the dried bricks. If I flew straight up and kept both of them in view until they were just out of view and dissapeared, I could stop and fly back down and only one would be visible and the other one would never show up. I knew he was there though because he kept placing dried bricks.
I tried different render distances and all kinds of different video options, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
Is there a way to pinpoint what version of Millenaire this started happening in? Then go to the previous version and see what kind of major (or minor) change was made that could of caused this.
I've also reviewed my forge and millenaire logs, but there are no errors at all in either one of them. Whatever happening is not considered an error by millenaire, so it's not logging any change in the villager's change of appearance.
Not sure what else to try, but if I encounter anything else I will report back.

Great video
My villagers disappear in one village. It's enough to run from one shop to another one. For example, city center and forge shop in Byzantium town.
You don't need to know much at all of that to make a culture.
Did you mean translation instead of culture? He was talking about language files.
Kinniken, I've only played this mod SP, render distance far. I set up a controlled Norman village and villagers would disappear even if I didn't leave the village. It seemed to get worse the longer I went without restarting. I would spend a lot of time in the basement of my fort and when I came up a bunch of the villagers would be missing.
I'm just starting into minecraft modding but I'm an experienced programmer so take this idea for what it's worth. It might have something to do with the renderer losing track of the entity or otherwise doing something very silly. Maybe you could add in a way to force a refresh of the NPC's if the player is within 50 blocks (depending on performance issues). Again, not sure if this even makes sense for the code at hand here.
Hi, we have modded minecraft server with several mods on it, including millenaire, and we've chosen to stay on 1.4.7 for it's stability and also because one of the mods we have won't update to 1.5.1. However, while putting all of our mods together (We had to start all over again), we have gotten these errors on startup:

We are working on figuring it out, but I figured it couldn't hurt to post it here and see if anyone else had had the problem - and found a solution.
Has anyone been able to get the Walled Norman Village custom culture to work? It's been ages since I used it. I know how to fix the missing villager textures, but i cannot trade/interact, they will not build even though they have materials, and the signs do not work.

The simplest way to do it is to go into mods\millenaire\cultures\norman\villagers and select all documents and copy them into mods\millenaire-custom\custom cultures\normantown\villagers
The hard way is to go into each individual file and update the texture directory. So say your normantown's carpenter.txt says texture=/mob/norman/ML_Carpenter0.png. You would have to add /graphics/ between texture= and /mob/ so that it looks like this:
texture=/graphics/mob/norman/ML_Carpenter0.png.
Regular Millenaire comes with the extra biomes that the ExtraBiomesXL mod comes with, if you post about it on the Suggestions page whatever this bgw4 mod is might be included.
If you do then you can just try again
player.me/felinoel
I've tried:
forge 1.5.1-7.7.0.608
forge 1.5.1-7.7.1.611
forge 1.5.1-7.7.1.612
