Hey all, Im a little late to the party since my question is for 1.5.2, but I've followed the directions correctly, and nothing happens. If i hit "L", it states "Dynamic lights globally on" but the torch im holding does nothing.
I just installed it on 1.6.2 and it doesn't work...
1) Installed Forge correctly
2) Tested other mods - worked
3) Added Dynamic lights 1.6.2.jar to coremods folder - nothing changed in the game
4) added Dynamic lights 1.6.2.jar to Mods folder - nothing changed
I dont know why it doesn't work... when i start the game Forge Mod Loader sees the mod and lists it in the Mods menu so that means its loaded , but when i start the game no moving lights no nothing

You may need to enable it, and if nothing else you can add it to the classpath by adding it to the json. Link in my signature has details on how to do so, in the New Launcher -- Multiple profiles link. I'm going to start a thread detailing all the json additions that work this way (not all mods do, Inventory Tweaks and NEI can't be loaded this way, unfortunately).

I had this same problem, all you need to do is go to the config folder in your .minecraft folder and delete anything that has DynamicLights in it and restart Minecraft, new config files should generate and the lights should appear now.

I have Minecraft Forge 9.10.0.835 installed and working, and DynamicLights 1.6.2 installed and working, but I see no effect in game whatsoever. The DynamicLights mods are listed if I check the list of MODS on the main menu.
A list of all of my mods follows, do you know if any of these causes problems or conflicts with DynamicLights?

cpw is trolling by adding a new mandatory manifest flag, thus breaking pretty much every coremod in existence. I am recompiling my existing coremods with the "fix" right now. You can also fix it yourself: Go into the dynamic lights jar, the manifest.mf, and add the line

I also just went back and loaded nothing but Forge and DynamicLights, and it still does not render any lighting effects. The mod seems to load, and seems to work... I am at a loss here.

I tried it also with nothing but Forge. Same results... Nothing but Forge, and what comes with Forge, and then DynamicLights.
Just checked with #836, works as always. Put your full client logfile up on pastebin or somesuch if you want me to point out whatever it is you did wrong.

dynamic lights works fine with optifine B4 ultra using forge #789. as long as nothing is broken there is no need to update anything.
I really have no idea what was going on now. Yesterday I could not get DynLights to render with the mod loading...today with all of my mods installed and running it is working without issue. Optifine is installed, MCP, FML, Forge, SPC, Keithy Utils, Aquaculture, DL and all supporting mods, MapWriter, and the Update Check mod...
After reading your post I decided to test this out and see. I removed Optifine (because it does not work with shaders, and installed GLSL Shaders Mod. For almost all of the shaderpacks I have tried when I am holding a torch I glow ridiculously. Other than that though, I have no problems running this mod while using shaders.

Did you open the zip file and got to 'set-up' then click on 'mods'?? the jar file in there is what you need to put in the mods folder along with the update checker.

Or re-download Dynamic Lights, the fixed version is up.
