And if it is, I am stuck on step 3. I have downloaded other mods, but I don't think I have backed up my file with a Minecraft JAR folder. How can I do that? And what button/link do I click to download the actual SPC mod?

sk89q (WorldEdit author) is arguably one of the most trustworthy Modders here. I'm going to qualify that. If any download you find contains www.minecraftforum.net/! If you Google WorldEdit there will be some false returns. There are unscrupulous persons that claim to offer everything you are looking for. Google "1.6.4 SPC" and odds are better than even someone has a link to a nonexistent Mod. Some of them are just after the AdF.ly link, some want you to download something malicious.
Is it easy to ruin a world with a moments inattention while using WE? Yes; I have more than once. I, once my world successfully opens, make a back-up copy. I have on more than one occasion needed to use that copy. It happens. Is it malicious intent by WE, no.
To answer the last part of your question, if you find one of MY SPC installation instructions and follow it, I doubt you'll have a problem.

Both simo_415's and q3harcore's SPC versions are linked on MY Instruction. My instruction is a PDF and contains no executable links. YOU must go to the links I offer and download the program of your choice. I use q3's, The choice is yours.

when i play, it says that its cant find WorldEdit.jar in .minecraft/bin folder. i put WorldEdit.jar in the .minecraft folder, but its still not working help me plsss!
hey, i installed the spc for 1.6.2 and basically all the codes work great except for the item code cause if i try: item (any item) it says cannot find the specified item but when i type the item code, e.g. item 5, the item comes up. And i find that very annoying. is there an easy fix to this, since i'm not a computer expert
thx
I cant download cause i use forge and i see no instaliation for forge
ok so the way you install it with forge for 1.6 + is you install it that same way you do with modloader by draging the files in to the jar file.
then go on your lancher and click edit file.
then click on the check mark box beside where it says JVM Arguments.
then in the text box where it has -Xmx1G
you need it to say this -Xmx1G -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
then click the save button and run minecraft
I need help when I try to log on with this mod it just says, we can't start the game because we think your game is modded; If you do indeed use mods please contact the mod author thank you.
So I need to just tell you that.

This has been answered a few hundred times. Had you researched the last few pages you could have been happily using WE for the previous 11 hours!!! Create a \bin Folder - This was done on a Vista; other operating systems may differ slightly:
Click “Start”.
Type “Run” [Enter].
Type “%appdata%\.minecraft” [Enter].
Right click, choose “New”, choose “Folder”.
Name it bin.
Put the WorldEdit.jar in it.

So, I need some help really bad... If this question has already been asked on here I'm sorry... So just today my minecraft world that I have been working on got corrupted, but I ended up finding a way to uncorrupt it. So worldedit has been working fine until I uncorrupted it. Now my world edit is not working AT ALL. And the thing is, is that it still says single player commands in the lower left corner when I start my world. And yet the axe commands such as, pos 1, and pos 2, are not working and not any of the single player commands are working either. The version I have installed is 1.5.2 spc. And I have the worldedit.jar in the same folder as my minecraft.jar in the bin folder... Someone please help I've been trying to figure this out all day!
I too still play 1.4.7 often. First I would try creating a new world to see if that worked. If no, I rename *\.minecraft old and start over, You can add your world (if not corrupted) once it is working.
My bin contains MC1.4.7.jar, Guess what it would be if playing 1.5.2. The word "Default" may well be the problem. I play the old versions with MagicLauncher (1.1.7) or SKMCLauncher. I've never tried the vanilla launcher with anything 1.5.2 or earlier.
I still need help I just need to show you the crash report.

Hey i have a problem, im using a MAC and i have minecraft 1.6.4, ( cant find out how to download 1.6.2 )
So i did everything OK and i was at the point where you start up minecraft so the mods folder can be created, ( this is before i place the world edit .jar in it ) and when i start the world it just freezes at saying " converting world" if anyone has any info, please respond!
~~~~~~~
Now to answer some people who are on their mac and they cant find this " bin " folder, what you have to do it go to the application support file, and click on minecraft folder, there should be a folder called " mods" click there, then click on the file you called the new mod version title you called it, and place the worldedit.jar in there. ( THE MODS FOLDER IS ONLY THERE{AND THE FILE CALLED, WHAT YOU CALLED THE COPIED VERSION FILE, AND STARTED THE GAME AND IT SAID " WORLD EDIT IS NOT FOUND IN BIN" AND/OR IF YOU ALREADY HAD A MOD FILE THERE)
...
On the vanilla launch page is 1.6.4, 1.6.2, and 1.6.1.
There are 2 versions in play here, simo_415's SinglePlayerCommands-1.6.2_V4.9 (page 1, post 1, and gets put in the \bin folder on a PC), and q3hardcore's SinglePlayerCommands-1.6.2_V5.0dev2 (page 1426, post 28506, it gets put in the \mods\spc folder on a PC). Please clarify which you're using for all the other Mac users.
Lou
@ DLBerge;
A successfully opened; unmodified; Forge-installer-1.6.2-9.10.1.871.jar (I also used 789, 804 and 830).
Open that with Magic.
On the "Advanced" tab "Parameters" add:
-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true(space)-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true”
On the "Mods" tab:
add SPC 1.6.2 (there are 2; I recommend q3's version).
add other Mods (I was able to put all mine in the Mods tab, that doesn't always work) one at a time and test between (remember to click OK).
Optifine if used LAST!!!
3is isn't that difficult to understand!
Lou
You might read one of MY installation instructions (both SPC versions linked). I renamed all 3 Forge' s (1.6.2f, 1.6.2f.jar , and 1.6.2f.json (must be opened and changed internally too)) once I had it working. You will need to make a new profile if you do (drag a copy to your desktop first, just in case).
4.) Click "Save Profile".
5.) Click "Play" and wait for it to download.
You should be able to switch versions easily with the new Minecraft Launcher, regardless of what Operating System you're using. The instructions SuperSupermario24 posted are correct, and are the same for all platforms.
Uh, i need the exact download file. And I dont think its the same as mac.
Anyone have the vanilla launch page url, to download 1.6.2, i cant find it.
...Here's a video of what I was talking about. If this doesn't help you, you're on your own. And yes, I recorded, uploaded (which took me 2 attempts), and annotated this video for the sole purpose of helping you, so I expect you to watch it and, more importantly, PAY ATTENTION.
Also I'm pretty sure posting download links to Minecraft files like .jars is against the rules.
NOTE: Turn annotations on if they're off. If you're on a mobile browser or for whatever other reason can't view annotations, wait until you can access a computer where you can turn them on, and then watch it.
And if it is, I am stuck on step 3. I have downloaded other mods, but I don't think I have backed up my file with a Minecraft JAR folder. How can I do that? And what button/link do I click to download the actual SPC mod?
p.s. where is this "vanilla launch page"?
Thanks!
1.) Select your profile.
2.) Click "Edit Profile".
3.) Go to the "Use version:" line. Click the box and then click "release 1.6.2".
4.) Click "Save Profile".
5.) Click "Play" and wait for it to download.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there you go.
Note: These instructions are based on the Windows launcher. I don't know if this will be the same on a Mac, as I do not have a Mac.
also you should check out Link Removed
Anyone have the vanilla launch page url, to download 1.6.2, i cant find it.
You should be able to switch versions easily with the new Minecraft Launcher, regardless of what Operating System you're using. The instructions SuperSupermario24 posted are correct, and are the same for all platforms.
Also I'm pretty sure posting download links to Minecraft files like .jars is against the rules.
NOTE: Turn annotations on if they're off. If you're on a mobile browser or for whatever other reason can't view annotations, wait until you can access a computer where you can turn them on, and then watch it.
