Hello,
I'm playing on 1.6.4 and I have a few questions about horses :
- I see tier 2 horses spawn naturally (2 different kind so far), is it normal ?
- I've read that fairy horses can't be bred anymore. Is there any way to get one ? I've tried the insta-spawner, no fairy horse in the list. In creativemode, there is no fairy horse egg and if I get a fairy amulet, there is nothing in it.
- I've read that there is no more 5 tier 1 horse in Mo creature cause some come with Vanilla. Is it true ? And, if it is, is it possible to mix vanilla and MC horse to breed another ?
- When I use insta spawner for wildhorse, I get a grey horse and I can find that kind of horse in the breeding table. Wich tier of horse is it ?
Thank you for your answers.
I just went through all of this myself . . . and I'm happy to spare someone else the hassle with this.
There are two horse types Vanilla, known as "horses" and Mo creatures known as "wild horses" They can both be spawned with eggs.
The "horses" spawn what were formerly Mo Creatures "tier 1" horses: Black, white, etc . The "wild horse" egg and natural spawns only spawn tier 2 wild horses. The chart about horse breeding still applies but you tame the "horse" by "breaking it first, vanilla style, then putting on a vanilla saddle and you tame the wild horse by putting on a crafted saddle and breaking it after. You then need to feed the "horse" a golden carrot and the "wild horse" a pumpkin and then follow the breeding guidelines all the way up to the Bat Horse, Nightmare, Pegasis, Unicorn but the Fairy horse breeding no longer works. . . as far as I can tell. They just drink all your essence and do nothing.
yes the insta-spawner makes an odd colored wild horse. I'm not sure what role it plays.... and I had some weirdness with my inventory happen while spawning some of those odd colored horses. Dunno if it is related. . . but the insta-spawner now makes me a little cautious. It can all be done with spawning eggs or naturally spawning horses.
So anyway. . yeah. . . they made it very easy. . . and intuitive. . . :sarcasm:
But that may be the only way they could keep the Mo Creatures breeding the way it is once vanilla MC got horses.
What do you mean, "no good with the new minecraft"?
If you mean 1.6.4, yes, it works with 1.6.4. (Although there is a bug-fix update in the works.)
If you mean 1.7.2, no mods work with 1.7.2 yet, PERIOD. Everybody is waiting for Minecraft Coder Pack to update to 1.7.2
(they're working on it, but half a million lines of code were changed), and then once MCP updates, all Forge mod authors are going to have to wait again while Forge updates. You're just going to have to be patient, like all the rest of us.
Love Mo Creatures, hate the POS Custom Mob Spawner on which it depends (CMS breaks mob spawning, in one way or another, in every dimension except the Overworld). Tried replacing CMS with JAS (Just Another Spawner), but MOC doesn't use the same process of mob registration that allows JAS to manage every other mods added mobs without the need to spend a day hacking config files.
Dropped MoC due to its dependency on that abomination of game-breaking code (CMS) and it's anti-social treatment of other mob spawning mods.
I appreciate the enormous amount of effort that went into the creation of MoC, and thank the creator(s) for their efforts. It's a damned shame that CMS brings an otherwise excellent product down to the level of making me choose between fighting werewolves or having the right mobs in the Nether, the End, and Mystcraft ages.
Just thought you might like to know the reason why the fruits of your labor will go unused for one previous user.
I'm having an annoying bug.
My server doesn't like to start if I change the configfiles manually so I thought if I as Opped could change the spawnrates ingame.
The global mod options-button werent there and as soon as I press F6 my client crashes giving this report.
the GUI does not work on server config files.
what happens if you try to change the config files manually?
and what program are you using to modify the config files? if you are using notepad you have a very good chance of screwing up the formatting of the config file and that will mess up your server
oh, there are line commands to change config options on a server.
btw, you can copy the config files from your client and use them on a server

empty the mob's biome group list and CMS will not touch that mob.
and CMS likes to add all biomes to certain biome groups, so some tinkering is required
Is anyone else having trouble with the options for this not showing up in 1.6.4? I keep seeing people say this is compatible with 1.6.4, and everything else seems to work fine for me, just the options menu doesn't exist. If anyone else is having / had this same problem, do you know of a fix for it?

the options menu was yanked in favor of just using the key to bring it up, F6
Dear DrZhark im currently a bit confused on the horses i don't know how to get the special dotted horse to get the zebras
since it seems that some of your mo creatures horses (which you need in order to get the dotted horse) have been replaced with the vanilla horses. Now i wan't to know can you breed vanilla horses with mo creatures horses. Or maybe you could make a setting that removes the vanilla horses and puts the horses that was replaced, back into the game. If you can that would be very nice
Reply me plz
MOC horses can be bred with Vanilla horses, but, vanilla horses require golden apples to breed, not pumpkin like MOC horses
hey i <3 this mod but does it work for 1.6.4 bec i got my forge on 1.6.4
Just update your forge <go to the launcher, edit profile, then click on "use version" click on the 1.6.4 one, then click "save" and yes, it does work on 1.6.4

Hey, uh, I followed everything you did in the video but on start-up it only shows that there are 5 mods and not 6? Is there something I can do? I'm really confused

JAS suffers from none of these defects, but Mo Creatures does not use a standard method of registering the mobs it adds: JAS knows they exist, but every Mo Creatures mob imports into JAS with zero chance of spawning. So unless one wants to go through every biome added by MC, Biomes O' Plenty, and every other biome-adding mod, and for each biome modify the values of each Mo Creatures mob, Mo Creatures mobs do not spawn under JAS. None of the ten other mob-adding mods I use suffers from this defect, JAS imports them and assigns them spawn chances (which, admittedly, sometimes need some tweaking). But JAS can be made to spawn the right mobs in the right biomes, something which can not be said of CMS.
I'm having a problem adding Mo' Creatures to 1.6.4 I put it in my mods folder correctly and everything but when I try loading a world it takes me straight back to the menu, I try loading the world again then it just freezes on the loading screen with no words or anything. My Gui-Api is a .jar like others say it has to be. I took out just mo' creatures and leaving custom mob spawner and it loaded fine. Any help?

There should be a console tab on the vanilla launcher, or a crash log folder in .minecraft. Post one of those in a spoiler tag, please.
