I had the same issue and this is what I did to fix it. with 1.6.2 you no longer have to go into the minecraft.jar to install forge and there is no /coremods folder. No deleting of META-INF either.
I'm not even trying to update to 1.6.2 though. I'm still running 1.2.5 and the version of Mo Creatures that I'm trying to run is the 1.2.5 version with the amulets. I need to get this to work before I can even update Minecraft to 1.6.2
Hrmm, ok, after just being burned to a crisp by a wraith, I went to see what it was, and whether it was capable of stealing my weapon? I can't see anything about weapon stealing, but my gold sword is gone.
So, not sure if this is a bug or not, but the description of flame wraith says only spawns on hard, and I am still on easy, and I have more than one of them running around ATM
Is that a bug? or have they changed since description was written out originally?
Might be a bug - that problem turns up once in a while on the thread. If you want to make sure they're disabled, you could change their spawn to 0 for now and switch them back on later. Another popular choice is to make them Nether-only mobs. To do that, you'd go into .minecraft/config/MoCreatures/Creatures and open MoCreatures.cfg then change S:FlameWraith <MOBS:NETHER> to S:FlameWraith <NETHER>
[EDIT] Almost forgot - you'd want to make changes to the server's file as well. A good rule of thumb is to always have matching files.
Download a program called Notepad++. Use it to open the .cfg files.
Oh, Notepad! I already have that installed on my computer, it just wasn't in the list of selected programs to open the .cfg file with. I messed around with it though and I finally got it to open.
Everytime i installed Mo Creatures for 1.6.2 it craches after the mojang screen.. Am i doing something wrong? I have GUI Api and Custom mob spawner installed and active.
Could you add Butterflies or make this work with the Butterfly Mania Mod? When I have Butterfly Mania Installed and make a new world none of your creatures spawn and I'm not sure why, any help is appreciated.
I am trying to create a fairly realistic world with diverse biomes and real creatures. This would naturally not include make believe monsters of any kind. I have tried and tried to use the GUI to stop monsters from spawning and it does not work. So I would rather do without the animals in Mo' creatures, if I can not get rid of the make believe monsters. Next time do it right before you release the mod.

If a game in production were the Titanic ocean liner, a Fan-Boy would not admit the ship was sinking even when his feet were getting wet.

There's nothing wrong with the mod. It is done right: it's configurable. If you want a non-standard configuration, learn how to configure it. I can think of at least two different ways in the config files to disable all "make believe monster" spawning. It's not Dr.Zhark's job to anticipate every possible way some user could want to configure the mob and deliver that user a pre-customized version. You're the outlier here who wants an unusual configuration; learn how to do it.
(Hint: You can turn off all monster spawning by changing one setting in the config file. In fact, there's two different alternative settings that would probably do it, in different ways. Both settings, oddly enough, have "spawnMonsters" in their names. And for both settings, it should be fairly obvious what to change them to.)
The config files reset themselves. Funny how there is always a fan trying to say, " You're using it wrong". Mo' creatures mod is well known to be very buggy.

Im sorry I dont know how to install this on a mac, Ive never used one.
With the Forge, I would use 818 as thats confirmed as compatible.
If anyone can please make a Mac install for 1.6.2 let me or DrZhark know so we can put it into the OP.
Thanks,
TG

No problem thanks a lot
That's good to hear! Again, make sure all players and the server have the same copy of Idfix.txt and things should be good.

Don't demand updates and look a little better. You will see there is a DEV version (v6) for 1.6.2 available.
Happy to help.
