That's what I am using too. You put ModLoader and then the patch?
The thing is that Magic Launcher does not place files by timings so Magic Launcher technically could launch the patch before Modloader even if you installed the patch AFTER Modloader. I installed Modloader and the patch and other mods manually, and I have had no errors whatsoever.
Hi, i'm having this problem, when i add modloader to the magic launcher mods list, or even when I install it manually, minecraft doesn't work, i mean, it opens the windows saying with the big Mojang logo, but suddenly it closes. This only happens when I add modloader to MC, help please :c
Are you sure you deleted META-INF when you did? Just wanting to ask.
I had ModLoader installed via Magic Launcher, unless you meant that I had to install ModLoader manually into the jar
I meant to put ModLoader in the mods list first, and the patch last. You don't have to mod the jar, although I did yesterday come across a mod that MagicLauncher does not load correctly.

Magic Launcher adds all the mods it loads to the classpath in order when it is starting MC, and java is supposed to load them in the order they are listed. It done this correctly on win7 and winXP at least, but it is possible for java to load them in a different order.
I see what you did, I was looking for that code. I knew ModLoader was calling that function when it was not supposed to , but I couldn't find where! My solution was really just making the SoundManager thread safe. I added a simple boolean value to check if a SoundSystem is already running and if it is to skip creating a new one.
The new 1.6.1 setup has me all buggered up. I can't seem to get Mod Loader to work properly. Works perfect with the old setup (like 1.4.6) but the new folder structure / versions stuff seems to cause me no end of trouble.
I sort of wish that there was a Mod Loader installer that just took care of everything, like there is for MC Patcher.
I'll just hang in there and try to be patient. Maybe I can find some instructions somewhere that I can get working for me in the near future.

I know for a fact that ModLoader for 1.6.1 will not work for Minecraft 1.6.2. There is at least one (may be several) of the modified classes that Mojang has changed in the new version that require Risugami to recompile ModLoader with the new changes.
Some of the other mods may not need to be recompiled, but that will be a hit or miss thing where it might just be easier to recompile everything. This was a pretty big bug fix update.
I cannot get ModLoader to work with 1.6.1 at all. It's pretty awful.
I can get MC Patcher to work (it auto-installs) and therefore texture packs, but I can't load treecapitator or any other mod through ModLoader.
The developer of the TimberMod has said he will no longer develop that mod past 1.5.2. Looks like all the changes in 1.6.x scared him off. Seems it would take more time than he's willing to put in on that project.
Has anybody gotten ModLoader to work with 1.6.1? If so - how exactly? The directions on the first page do not seem to work for me at all.

Hey, nice fix! I also came up with a fix but it is very simple (yours is probably more involved). But here it is for reference:
Download v025 for Minecraft/ModLoader/Forge 1.6.1

Oh, it works now. Thanks for your help!
No problem! When modloader is updated I will see if the bug still exists. If it does I will update the patch.
Yep, i did, because when i tried without deleting META-INF it appeared an error report window.
There are two links on the original posts to "old versions". Look for the other link. It is there.
Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2
Cheers, I hope you thought I did them justice!
