FEATURE REQUESTS:

Add a "Replace" button on the Mods Setup Screen.

That way, you don't have to: Remove the one you want to replace, add the one you want, and move the newly-added one to the correct spot in the list.

Instead, just highlight the one in the list that you want to replace and click the "Replace" button to add a new mod in its place in the list.

This would be great for when updating a mod in the list after it came out with a new version.

Also, maybe something that allows users to automatically create a text file showing the list of mods that the player is using with Magic Launcher (both internal and external mods, including any disabled ones) and the order they are listed in. That way, it would make it easier for people to post that list here when looking for help. Or, for people wanting to help others by making it easier to show them the correct order etc.

Do you mean does magic launcher work with Just the latest snapshot OR does Magic work with Latest snapshot AND MOD's

AFAIK Magic work with the snapshots (I know it worked with 12w16a) however it WON'T work if you try to install any MOD's that have not been updated for the snapshot you are trying to run

I think some MOD's will work with the snapshot, but it's a lot of trial and error, & I think you may find most MOD makers won't update their MOD's until the next 'full' release comes out

I have a request for you sp614x, I would be very grateful if you were to add a "IDConflict" Or "IDResolver" option to the magic launcher, a lot of these mods I want to play are incompatible for the sole reason of ID conflicts, if you could add this I would be very great-full.

@ Coko37 & Lunatrius: Just to see if there's any differences in your 2 setups....

What OS are you both using (Windows Linux Mac etc) ??
What version of magic (EXE/ Jar etc) are you both using ??

@Coko37 - what 'problem' are you getting ? (Magic not starting up / Crashing when logging in / not recognising the snapshot etc etc)

I know that MAC users seem to have more problems with magic than Window users, perhaps you're one of them ??

Windows 7 x64, EXE and/or JAR
Archlinux x64, JAR

Works fine in both. Maybe he didn't copy both files/folders in the .minecratf folder (the server/ folder must be copied as well).

Hello. I downloaded Magic Launcher and so far I love it!!

But there is one problem: I have a mac and when I download a mod, it automatically puts it into a folder. Since I cannot get the Magic Launcher to use the folder, I compress it into a .zip file. I am able to put it into the mods section in the setup window, but it does not work when I log into Minecraft. Under the status, it says no mods found...

Can you help? If you can, that would be great!

Okay, so I recently tried adding Modloader and Forge (client versions) in with Magic Launcher. Unfortanetly, every time I add Forge it gives me the same two errors. I think I used to have Forge working, I'm not sure what caused the problem.

im getting this error for running 12w18 with magic launcher... i used a different folder maybe thats why it doesn't work

Magic Launcher always seems to indicate "2 errors" on Forge in the mod list, but still works fine anyways. Test it out with only modloader and forge installed. Oh and you probably need modloadermp installed even though the Forge website says you don't

This is really useful, i can run with the 64 bits , but why cant i put minecraft forge + the mods which needs it with the magic launcher?

Vpilo try changing the java way to the 64 bits, u may be using the 32 bit

This is the best GUI interface for a mod manager I've seen, congrats. I also love the fact that I can run multiple versions of Minecraft from a folder other then %AppData%. Has some nice customization launching parameters. BTW, for some reason after unchecking the News checkbox keeps re-checking itself every few times I load the game. However it's inability to properly support mods like GUIAPI and the lack of detailed information needed for proper mutiple mod conflict resolution means I will be switching back to MC patcher. Nice wip though, will check back on this launcher's progress in the future.

OK this is odd... Trying to increase my Allocated Memory. I am only getting 155mbs. I feel this should be bigger because I keep running out when I try and play anything...

(I'm doing this from memory so I may have something wrong)

Firstly - have you got the 'correct' dynamic lights ??
There's 2 versions - one for 'modloader' & the other 'mcpatcher' version, You'll need the modloader one..

Secondly - you will need to ALSO have the Modloader MOD downloaded & installed as well
Next you need to unzip 'dynamic_lights.zip' & end up with 2 folders & a couple of files
Open up the 'Compiled_put_this_into_minecraft.jar' folder, select all the 'class' files in this & re-ZIP it into a new ZIP file
Use this newly created ZIP file & ADD it in 'Magic Launcher' (along with 'Modloader'MOD - make sure Modloader is above your new zipped Dynamic lights file in the list)
Copy the contents of 'configfile_put_this_into_.minecraft_folder' into your '/.minecraft/' folder
Hopefully, 'No Mods Found' should disappear & you should be able to use it now
