Now updated to version 3, with a new UI and better help section, and removed the bug of where sometimes the run file wouldn't work on Windows based systems :biggrin.gif:
Sweet. I'll be looking out for it. Great job, I suspect this will do good for new players looking to make a server!
Thanks :smile.gif:
This is just a basic one, more like just a concept, the one with full compatibility with all operating systems will be much easier to use.
(Actual UI, using Java)
From what I can tell, it seems no less complicated than just setting up the server the traditional way. But maybe that's just me.
Well, for some people it's easier. It also gets all the server stuff configured, such as the run file, downloading the jar, easy on/off buttons, explanations of everything, etc. For me, it's more annoying, but that's just because I'm used to text-based everything, and if possible, never use a mouse.
It does everything except for port forward, but only because I can't find the library that does that for you :sad.gif:
Here's a screenshot of it:
It does everything from setting up the server properties to downloading the server, and opping you.
It also includes a information tab about what does what.
It generates a run file so that all you have to do is doubleclick a file to start it :biggrin.gif:
It is compatible with Mac, Linux, and Windows.
Without further ado, here is the download! http://ad.cx/pxq3l4

Image removed because I now hate imgur, and removed all my images from their site.
Thanks :smile.gif:
I'll probably finish it tomorrow...
I've just got to add all the data writing, then it's done!
Updating details on first post...
don't expect me to be on much.
I just finished recreating it from scratch, due to a glitch that wiped both of my hard drives, so I'll hopefully be able to finish that idea soon...
Thanks :smile.gif:
Redone version of this application with better help and a better UI is getting uploaded right now!
Do you have any suggestions to make it better? I'm constantly working on ways to improve it :smile.gif:
Great! This is one thread I'l be keeping up with!

That's odd...Java is the same on all platforms, so it wouldn't matter if you're on a different operating system.
It works fine for me, and various other people, so I have no idea :/
Let me install a copy of WinXP on a VirtualBox...
