when i press load from file and click on the .dat nothing comes up. what am i doing wrong?
i have also tried plugging in my seed which ended with the same results
What version of minecraft are you running? And is it plain vanilla no mod .jar?
For some reason, the move player feature won't work. Even though i've saved the game, moved my player in the program, then reloaded it, my player is at the same spot as where I had saved it. Do I need to have some option changed to make it work?
Works for me! Did you remember to "save player location" after moving player in amidst before you started minecraft game up again?
Also use Minutor for that... it will let you scroll through layers of your /explored/ world and see everything very easy to pick out mob spawners because of the mossy cobblestone floors.
You should really add dungeon and mineshaft finder here
These are so very common it would get cluttered fast, they would need to be toggleable... but why re-invent the wheel.... Minutor does this much better.
The line of yellow is my 1x2 tunnel at level 12, notive just next to the lava pool near the bottom is a dungeon... then at the top right is a mineshaft.
Hover your mouse over spots of interest to get the coords. Take a look at one of your current worlds in Minutor and you'll see just how cluttered it would be if they were all on screen in Amidst.
Not trying to steal any thunder from Admist, it is AWESOME for what it does, but Minutor is much better for mineshafts and dungeons... and after using Admist to find a stronghold, Minutor is much better for showing the details of it.
Yes, and to make it even easier with Minutor, you can create a custom color scheme with all the other blocks transparent (alpha 0) except for mossy cobble and monster spawner and the dungeons will jump out at you. It's a bit of a hassle to change all those block values, since you can't select multiple items in the color list, you have to do each one separately. And since the color schemes are stored in the registry in binary, you can't easily edit it that way either.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Now it always says when I open it: "AMIDST ran in JAR mode without -noverify!
Use:java-noverify -jar AMIDST.jar"
I used to be able to open it without the warning. And I am not removing my mods so I will just stick with the older version. At least it's better for me rather than this version..If possible, please change that.Thanks.
I seriously love you for this app. You don't understand how useful this is!
I've been playing around with it and I'd like to offer suggestions.
First, my mouse is known to zoom out quite quick, I get a black screen unfortunately with no way of zooming back in. My mouse scrolling is at the lowest, so for webpages it is quite slow, but playing Minecraft (and using this app) I still have the problem of quick zooming/scrolling. The scrolling is somewhat sideways too. Weird. (Mountain Lion OS X btw).
Second, I'd love to have each category have it's own layer, so they can be disabled/enabled (not just NetherFortresses, Slimes, and Grid).
Also, desert temples and sand temples should be separated.
Third, or fourth, add more - Like dungeons (maybe even what kind of mob spawns - Skeleton, Spider, Zombie - again enable/disable in layers), sand wells (pretty useless but still a feature/naturally generated structure), Ravines, AND Abandoned Mine shafts.
Many people requested those. I'd love to see them! Thank you!
For some reason, nothing shows up when I enter a seed or use a world file. I'm on Mac OS X.
Check to see if AMIDST will work with your version of Minecraft on the first post - currently it ONLY works up to 1.4.6 - so if you have 1.4.7 or late... forget it

Screenshot of the error in jar (exe same message box):
Edit: nevermind... it use to be fine with modloader installed... had to use a clean jar this time
I wish you could place a clean jar IN the folder with amidst and have it use that one.
edit2:
Use Minutor for that... it will let you scroll through layers of your /explored/ world and see everything.
you sir are good.
"AMIDST ran in Jar mode without -noverify!
Use: java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar"
I have no idea what that means, but I'm using windows 8, could that change something? I also have minecraft 1.4.6
Sorry, should have read more other posts before asking! So I took a fresh jar, and it worked!
