Well it worked. I am using an ocean world, where there are only islands and the first one was spot on, unfortunately it mixes with two ravines, some caves, and a mineshaft so the only loot i found was in one library, seven pages.
...two was mined out. There were a total of three rooms actually complete. No chests...
Three was where the stuff was, the coordinates weren't exact, but a nearby ravine lead me to it.
I accidentally checked the last location first. Couldn't find it for the life of me. First one was the same. However, when I went to the second, I saw light in the water. Dug into there, heard spiders, filled the hole I made with TNT and set it off. Landed right in a destroyed room (my fault mostly XD) with a fountain in the middle. Awesome Stronghold:
Please try out the new version and tell me how it works. I'll do my best to update more features as time goes along :smile.gif:
2 of my friends who have tried it in the last hour said it's way more accurate than before. Though, one of them told me that in one map, the first coordinate said "invalid biome" instead of the numbers. I can ask him the seed number if you want (or simply tell him to post it here but he's so lazy lol)

That's the message the game itself was giving off. I honestly think if it can't make a stronghold there it just won't make one.

Then it sounds like your best choice is to check for strongholds right when you create the world so you don't lose one of them because of that kind of problems lol
Sorry... no strongholds anywhere near any of the 3 locations, it seems. This is with 0.4. I even installed Strongestcraft to check. I also double checked the seed. -755346870683309068, in case anyone's interested. The first result had absolutely nothing under it (confirmed with dynmap), the second was over a river, which lead to a mineshaft, but no stronghold. The last one was over an NPC village. There were caves, but no stronghold.
Not sure what's wrong here. I haven't ruled out user error, but I'd like someone else to confirm, first.

Ahahahaha, MY fault!
Negative seeds won't work, I'll get an update out ASAP :tongue.gif:
Kinda annoying, seeing how I can find huge mine shafts, but no strongholds in this seed :/.
Skidoodle's Method may not be 100% ( Yet )but the co-ords given are very close - I've been playing around with this method for couple maps so here is location of a Stronghold for the seed you gave.
This was a test to see how close a stronghold was to spawn point so I made a map and just filled in that map area.
With the seed -5434475886538122676, I couldn't find the strongholds at 1 (-228,-952) or 3 (-972, 800), but 1 was near an abandoned mineshaft. I didn't check number 2 (912,452).
EDIT: Found the one at the first coordinates, around 50 blocks to the east of where you predicted. Didn't find the entrance, though.

I just created a world with your seed and tried the numbers.
They all work perfectly, the problem is there isn't an above ground entrance. That third one is WAY bellow ground.
I suggest you use a transparent texture pack to see them. They'll be right bellow your feet!
Thanks, worked fine for me but I had it easy. Worked my way to the first stronghold and found very near the coords a canyon. Looking in and what do you know! :biggrin.gif:
What happens when you try?
Love the signature Btw

I uploaded the image to the wiki for the sake the other ravine Stronghold screenshot was still development. :ohmy.gif:
Once I get a bit more accuracy to it, I'll make all the source code available.

It's alot easier to locate if you have Villages on your mapped area
Same map area but this time I just searched for block types 4 43 44 47 67 71 98 101
You can see where the 2 Villages are and at the bottom is your Stronghold :smile.gif:
nice Job Skidoodle keep up the great work :smile.gif:
The method is now 100% accurate o:
