"There is no .Net Framework 3.5 for Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack
3 version that I have. I went to Windows Update. The last is .Net Framework
3.0 SP1 version, which installed fine in Windows XP Home Edition Service
Pack 2 without problems." (excerpt taken from: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/1068471.htm)
this is the reason that it won't work with xp also some people can't update there computer to windows 7 so maybe you could make a version that uses .netframework 3.0 as im pretty sure that all windows os (that people actually have that can run minecraft)have acess to 3.0
This is a little Windows tool that lets you maintain different mod setups or versions in distinct folders (stored under 'profiles' in the directory the tool is run from). It leaves whatever's in the existing default Minecraft installation untouched and runs the game directly from the profile folders without copying to the main Appdata folder; the whole setup is portable and can be placed directly on a USB stick if you want and run directly from there. Just drop the Minecraft.exe in the Profile Manager folder and run the Manager.
I made this for some people at another board I frequent and figured that it might be of use here. It requires .NET 3.5, although odds are you already have it. E-mail any bugs to me at [email protected] or post here and I'll update it (this tool can let you know if the problem's with your .NET install)
Any Mac Versions? Cause that would really help most of us...
Thanks!
quick fix. switch to pc. lol i doubt there will be a mac version because this uses batch and exe files. and lets be honest. apple has really screwed up xcode bad with the latest versions.
I feel obligated to say this, because this rocks.
This is something else. This is fantastic.
This would make it so much easier for me to check out modpacks and uninstall them.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you ever so much.
ok, so i have a lot of different .minecraft folders for different mod setups in singleplayer, one of which is a 1.1 server, so will this allow me to switch between them without having to trade them over each time?
Okay this is for people on windows who want to Add-in some extra ram.
Simply create a text document in the minecraft profile folder and then open it.
copy this into it
Hi, I'd like to say one little thing, and that's that this really needs some form of update that will allow it to run on Windows XP. Because lemme tell you, it doesn't work. Period.
I have already checked with the tool linked in the first post, I do have .NET 3.5 installed, yet it does not work at all. This needs to be fixed, otherwise you're not going to have a lot of supporters.
Why can't Linux have nice things like this? I guess I can figure out a script or something that can pull this off. I'll let you all know if I get something working.

You may see a surge in posts since inthelittlewood uploaded a video on it today.

Would it be possible to create this in Mono? It would then be possible to run it in Linux, Mac and Windows :smile.gif:
