Hey! I decided to finally stop making random stuff and make a resource pack. I consider myself fairly new to pixel art, but I've been lurking around the Resource Pack/Texture Pack forums, Pixeljoint and some pixel art related subreddits for a long while (about a year or so). I wanted to start small (heh) with an 8x8 texturepack. I find it pretty cool to try and fit detail into such a small space, so I figured I would try it and see what you guys think. My biggest problem so far is trying not to get too many obvious tile errors, which is mostly due to the small space. I've only done a couple blocks over the course of a couple hours, but here they are..
Update 3.15.14 5:33PM: Added Diamond, Iron and Gold blocks along with all wooden tools, wooden plank (oak) and the stone and iron swords.
Looks lovely! However, I can see you have only done a few blocks. I think you should already give us the update before finishing, since it will no doubt take a long time.
I'm definitely going to update this topic until it's done! I need the feedback for fine improvement. The only 8x8 texture pack I've seen is Minihilly's, and it'd be really cool to have some input from him, seeing as he has personal experience with it. I'm about to put out an update with the swords, some precious metal/mineral blocks and some other tools as well, so you can look forward to that.
The wool looks adorable! Haha. The stone and cobblestone textures are very similar, but I think it looks good. It's a wonderful start. Also, I really do like your gravel, it reminds me of the Default.
I have actually made a fairly popular 8x pack myself, althrough I have discontinued it. Here's the link in case you want to check it out: http://www.minecraft...patcher-needed/ .
I hope you can do the tools better than I did. Mine look like they're fat.
Honestly, the tools are some of the hardest things to do so far. It's impossible to not have them look skinny or fat with 8x8, so it's really a choice between those two.
Not my cup of tea, a little too bright for me. (Rhyme un-intentional.) Anywho, I do think this is very good for a 8x8, I'm glad to see more low-res artists begin to move into the scene besides me and Copper
Awesome! The only problem I have with it though is the oak planks being gold..or they look like gold to me. :/
Besides taking a break, I've been working on how I could make these look better. I'm going to try darkening the wood while still keeping the bright and cheerful style I'm going for.

I'll try and be finished by then, but depending on my feedback it may take more or less time. At this rate, I should finish by then, though
Here are some pictures (I'm going to download a map showing all blocks within a small area after I've done more blocks)

I am an artist. All the art you see on my profile is by me, if it's not I will say so and whom its owner is.
I've been here for a loooooooooong time.
