Really pretty
The crossguard just... is kind of like a funnel?
@13thmurder
Can you use full opacity on these? Might look good to make the opacity higher near the rims, but clearer in the centre of the glass where rain, wind and attempts at cleaning succeed a bit more. I like both, but I find the second too opaque overall. I must say the look is PERFECT.
The opacity setting is a bit tempermental... i can control the overall opacity, but it doesn't seem to support partial transparency. I had originally tried to make the grime opaque with the rest transparent, and it averaged the transpareny instead. I could make an overall more transparent version of the second one however.
I was actually thinking of adding some rivets and shading where the frame bars cross over each other, to give it a sort of layered effect.
I have a question for some of you who have screenshots and show off the mobs skins you use.
.........what are you using to show the mob skins? I mean the shots that are -just- the mobs... it can't be a screen shot with the mob edited out, not when they show off more then one skin and the mobs unchanged.
I have been DIEING for something that freaking will show the texture on a mob. There's been one program that sort of did it, but the author took TWO YEARS to give us mob textures as he said he was to add and then only added in a select few... Hes said hed add in the rest.. a YEAR ago still with no sign of such.
I want to show off the mobs I have, as well as something to better view how their textures look rather then trying to sort it out in game. I can't tell how my enermen look as they wont freaking stay put long enough for me to get any kind of good look at them.
I posted this on my Native Lands thread, but I don't get much or any feedback there, so I'll post here.
I finished the Native Lands red and brown mushroom textures. I wanted a texture taking advantage of the high resolution for a smooth and clean feel, while being a similar style to the original.

The spots on the mushroom look just... bad.
If you're going for something close to vanilla, or close to reality for that matter, the spots should be white, and not perfectly round. The red mushroom in vanilla appears to be fly amanita, which looks like this:
If not though, definaltely consider at least making the spots not round.
Cactii: Good idea for the top and patterned marble blocks, looks lovely.
Hmmmm, do you have any sort of 3D software?
Or even Photoshop - you could have an OBJ file of the mob, haul it into photoshop and texture from there. I just find Photoshop's 3D texture painting back and forth handling iffy. tl;dr I can make you the 3D models, but I can't code any sort of viewer.
3d in photoshop is only with the extended version, something I lack.
I do have zbrush however.
If you can toss me the 3d models of... well.. EVERYTHING >.>;;;;;
But I do still wonder how others have been getting shots of the mobs and such, of the skins, and even for random mob support showing the same mod in the same pose... theres no way such is from in game shots.
How do you even extract the 3d models from minecraft?

You look at the class files and then use the x, y, z coords to make the models. Or you could just eyeball it using the pixels.
I now very badly want to use CTM to make a cat, fish, and decapitated bird block. Maybe it should replace wool?
Otherwise, I am trying to decide for mixed nuts whether I wanna keep the mob resolution normal, or size it down by a half. The mob textures are small enough as it is, so thats probably gonna be my verdict.

You see that green button with the plus? You dont have to click it, and I am not gonna force you to do it.
And after quite the break from the forums and texturing in general I'm back!! Did anyone miss me? No? I didn't think so. But anyways I've recently been trying to get back into texturing as I have regained my inspiration to make textures. I've been trying to make this little comeback for a while, but I've been having a very difficult time making things that look good. It's been very frustrating, but I think I've finally got something decent.
cobblestone, stone brick, dirt with side grass, and stone
Do you think I should change up the palette a bit for cobble to make it vary more from stone and stone brick? And do you think the stone has too much contrast?
Made some mod textures while i was away over the last 2 days, all on my iPad. I was pleasantly surprised today finding only a few errors.
I love this mod, it's like playing with a doll house again. ;D
Very nice textures, is that mod "Jammy's Furniture Mod"?

It is looking good so far, though I think the design is too uniform, randomize it a bit.
Today I reached 700 subs on PMC, and 4000 posts on MCF.
I think this is a sign of good luck.

The official Bluebird continuation is underway! Please come and help keep the pack alive!
The mortar looks far too blue. Tone it down a bit please. Also, how does that little rock tile?

Here's my new glass, i didn't get it working how i wanted, but i realized the overlapping glass is less noticable than i thought it would be.
There are 2 options for blending mode, i can go with one or the other...
Overlay, which basically just uses the glass as a tint:
This is the more transparent option as you can see.
And alpha, which uses a semi-transparent solid layer. The amount of transparency can easily be controlled to make it more or less visible.
So, which one is better?
Second for me by a long shot, I doubt they have many window cleaners in a place like that!
Looks awesome, WHEN is optifine going to get better glass.......its the last major thing missing

It has all 1.5 blocks and around 1/4 of items done.
