Ah well the more positive encouragement I get the more eager I am to make more textures and post more. :). I was bummed no one said anything about my desk. I was quite pleased with how that turned out. I feel like either most people here haven't noticed my thread or my textures, or that most people don't care for it.
I really appreciate everyone who has posted though.
So, what would happen if the desk texture CTM'd to more than three blocks in a row? Also, is the shadowy underneath texture on both sides?
EDIT: Hey, if you could, I'd love to take a look at this texture pack in my own game. I have an eye for detail and a penchant for breaking things; I'd be a great tester.
The middle block look is on both sides and if it goes more than three blocks that middle block repeats. So it is only useful with one, two or three blocks, so not generally useful in generic builds, but very useful for me.
Those are amazing... but the one on the right looks too high-resolution for the rest of the pack. It kinda sticks out.
The one on the left is perfect though. The flooring in your previous post is also amazing. And... are those torches on the wall there? If so, I'll never feel like I have to avoid using them ever again. They're simply too good not to have all over the place!
I've been mixing resolutions throughout the pack so far. Both rugs are 128x. But I've got stuff that is 32x, 64x and 128x depending on what I need. Basically I try to get as low resolution as I can without getting too blurry or pixelated.
Also, I figure that textures/objects that will cover a lot of space should be lower res. So walls, floors, etc. Things that are for individual pieces, like a 6 block rug, or a 1-2 block appliance can be a bit higher. If used sparingly. That's my thought at least. But I'll keep an eye on things that look out of place. Perhaps that screen shot makes it look more out of place because it is on a rather low-detail floor.
I'm glad you like them though. And the floor and the torch. I made the torch a while ago, I'm not fully satisfied with it, but it works for now. Actually there are a few stray pixels just kind of sticking out of it that I hadn't dealt with yet, I'll take care of those now.
My most recent project is creating chairs. Everyone uses stairs as chairs, so why not texture them as such? I discovered that I can independently texture all six sides of a stair block. Better yet I can customize it for each direction I place a stair block. So I'm aiming to have four unique textures for birch stairs.
The next challenge will be figuring out a texture that can look good for couches using the way stairs blocks change configuration when placed by other stairs. I played around with it but couldn't get it. I think it can be done though, it will just take more effort.
Here are the two chairs I have so far (both are birch wood stair blocks):

They look amazing, but what happens when they are placed upside-down?
Actually, looking back, the chairs appear to have black outlines around the edges. It would be better if they had proper shaing instead.
Now that you mention it, it is rather annoying on the bottom arch were it's not even anti-aliased. Aaaand now I can't un-see it from the arm of the white chair either.
They look amazing, but what happens when they are placed upside-down?
The textures only apply to right side up stairs. If they are placed upside down they just look like normal birch wood stairs in my pack.
And I see y'all don't much care for the black outlines, heh, ok. I can get rid of those. Do you recommend any outline at all or just have that wood paneling stop?
That's going to drive me bonkers. I'm going to be continuously wishing that I could get all of my chairs at the same furniture outlet store.
My Minecraft OCD aside, they look fantastic. Those tables are absolutely to die for, btw. *drool*
Since we have six kinds of wood now my plan is to have birch be four different chairs that can be used as free standing sitting chairs in a living room or waiting area. Then I'll have matched dining room chairs for another variety of wood. Office type chairs that can be used with desks. I might match these, I might not, but at the very least they should be similar. The office chairs will be a third wood type. Then, hopefully, I can come up with a texture that looks good for couches and benches for a fourth wood.
I'll probably do something generic and wood like for the last two. Ya know, in case I want to use wood stair blocks for actual stairs.

Maybe some sort of shading for an outline? Maybe shadow?

All are birch wood slabs. And, on the topic of mixing resolutions, the tops are all 128x while the much simpler sides are just 32x.

I made a new wall & ceiling for my movie theater:
A better shot of the ceiling:
Both the walls & ceiling are from the historic Fox Theater in Tucson, Arizona:
