Mods! Read this before you go further! This thread is related to minecraft texturing, because all of the comics posted here are about the creation and posting of texture packs. The comics also give people a sense of what not to post when it comes to texturing. Please do not move to annother section, thank you.
Hello everyone! I got bored and started making comics. I couldn't think of any good ideas, so I went to the forums. After browsing for a bit, I realized, "Hey, there are a lot of texturers, so why not make comics that are about texturing. A lot of people will be able to relate to them, and we will all get a good laugh." So I made a few comics, and posted them here. That is how this whole mess came into existence.
Check back often, the newest three comics will be posted below, the rest will be put into a spoiler, to save loading time.
Most recent comics:
Old comics
Spread the word, and leave a comment telling me whether you like the comics or not.
Although, I think the style you're using is too strong. I think the comics would be more appealing if the text was a little neater, and the format of them was a little more thought out.
For instance, the "Idea" comic, in my opinion, would be better if the forum was more apparent in it (forum layout, colors, simplified BG, ect.). I think the last frame would be funnier if it had like 4 responses in an easily recognizable MCF-esque drawing, and the OP at the bottom of the cell.
Some more color, and maybe speech/thought bubbles/indicators/whathaveyou might make the comic more enjoyable as well.
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Not much of an issue anywhere, just my thoughts
I'll see what I can do. But I didn't waht to use typed text in the comics for anything but the forums, and it's a shame I have such bad handwriting.

I also think you should have non-forum comics, that go into the life/experiences of a texture artist in a funny/entertaining way. Or maybe smart, new ideas for a comic.
Here's one:
A comic series following the life of Steve, and how he reacts to different texture packs.
S01EP01: Steve freaks out when encountering an X-ray pack.
He thinks he must be at a construction site and fears he may fall,so he walks on the edges of blocks.

I don't think Rhodox even checks this place anymore. It should be us who are raging.
And i agree that you should make the forum posts more recognizable. Try using colors and simple avatars with them, that might make it more obvious what they're supposed to be.

I think it should be either Balduran or you, Peyton, attacking the simple pack person. Also i could barely read some of the text.
Ok, since there have been a lot of comments about the handwriten font, I am just going to use typed.
I don't think that is completely necessary.
If you were using a mouse to write, try the drawing tablet, it is more like actually writing.
If you were using a drawing tablet to write, try a mouse, it offers more control, especially if you are used to a mouse.
If you're using a vector program, edit the letters to be more neat after you make them.
If you're using a raster program, make each penstroke on a new layer, so it is easier to edit letters to be neater. Merge the layers when it is.
I think just typing is perfectly fine for narrative, however speech should be hand-written, if you don't have too much trouble improving it.

Sooo... the face means that he gets no feedback at all and that's good? I'm sorry, i just don't get that last panel.
No, the last frame is just showing absolutely nothing happening. He is just sitting there, waiting for something. (But now that I think of it, there are no simplified default packs there at all.....)
But yeah, the last frame can be a bit confusing.

...But that's just my opinion.

Annother site, it is in 42and19's signature. It is really small at the moment, and it gets very little traffic.
