That's actually a Vanilla bug.. I explained it to someone else before, here's the old post:

It's actually a vanilla bug, it's just much more obvious with packs like mine. Basically, the destroy textures make a semi-transparent texture under it completely transparent when it overlays the texture ontop of it.
*but*, the difference is, in vanilla the destroy texture looks like this:
(Note that anywhere not the actual cracks themselves is 100% transparent)
..and SixtyGigs (and a few other's, like Sphax) look like this in order to make the cracks look smoothly shaded accross the texture it's overlaying:
If you notice, the default is mostly completely transparent in any area that's not the crack itself, where as mine is *completely* opaque. So where as you get the glitch in vanilla MC just on the cracks themselves when the overlay covers the block, in my pack it happens on the *entire* block.
But it's a small price to pay for a nice well blended block-break texture. The alternative is quite ugly. :/
Just to give everyone a heads up, I am of course still around. I've taken a short break from working on the resource pack. I've taken up a small side project; working on artwork for a new java game I am developing. I just needed to try my hands at some pixel art and take a break from the cartoony stuff I've been doing. Working on SixtyGig is a hard, complicated process and I just needed to step back a while and reset.
Here's some shorts of my project if you're interested in where my time has gone the past week. I'd love some feedback.
