we actually discussed this during one of your livestreams, you seemed ok with it at the time, so I assumed that was what you were going to do
well, I'm not sure about having the chainmail be embarrassing, and I am (personally) still for it being some sort of pre-apocalyptic gear.
do you have any specific ideas in mind for the chain mail?
Maybe. My original plan for it was to have it be a mad scientist outfit since a lot of zombies wear it... remnents of the past, those who caused the thing...
Anyway, i gave it to the character instead.
I might just use the default character's clothes anyway since most everyone uses a custom skin.
I figured i'd make it a fancy suit of some kind. I went with tweed, because i thought it seemed like a rather steampunkish material, and it has neat patterns, and gave him a bowtie, because bowties are cool. Each item has a bit of gold on it so you can tell it's gold armor.
The helmet is a bowler, monocle, and giant moustache (i said i was gonna do it, everyone thought i was nuts, but NOW IT'S BEEN DONE!)
There are some bullet holes and blood on the back of the jacket to perhaps give some insight as to what may have happened to its previous owner...
I'm just gonna throw in my two cents here and say that I like your idea for chain armor being the default skin's clothes. Maybe you should make them look all raggedy and bloody, since you can only get them from zombies. (Have you heard that theory that all zombies are actually dead Steves?) Well, you can get them from villagers, but they've gotta get it from somewhere. It also gives some excuse story-wise as to why you can't die but everyone else can. Just a thought.
Speaking of which, should the villagers be scientists like you? I know you said that they're gonna be wearing gas masks, but I don't really remember what else you said.

There were of course civilizations that developed in small time pockets, and sometimes people did survive if they figured out where the borders were...

It's looking really nice, probably one of the best i have seen in a while. You obviously have talent in this art, hopefully i might be able to see it in future video games.

I'll probably never advance beyond minecraft in video game design.
Now that 1.6 is finally out, which are you going to do first?
Will you going to make a "1.6 release" like you did with 1.5 and dew the new blocks/items, or are you going to explore resource packs first and add custom sounds/names? (I think you should do them in separate releases instead of one big release 'cause I'd personally like to not have to wait three and a half months for the next update. ._.) Love the armor by the way.

I need to wait for an actually working converter or at least some instructions to come out, since i can't make sense of why some of my textures simply won't show up now... mostly the animated ones.
Anyway, until then ill just work on the new 1.6 blocks, and redoing the wool now that there's hardened clay. Wool is currently tiles and wallpaper mixed. The redo will make 3 different tiles for each color. Wallpaper (wool sides), Tiles (hardened clay), and carpet (wool tops, and carpet blocks)
So that gives a unique option each for walls and flooring in wool alone, and tiles of course work well for either.
Although... i do use a lot of random ctm on this kind of thing. 16 colors X 3 materials X approximately 10 varients per texture = about 480 textures. And i've already added more than 10 varients for the ones i've already done, so let's say 500+. Hopefully random ctm doesn't suck up all that much memory. I can't imagine it straining the GPU too much, but my pack probably won't run too well for anyone with less than 2gb ram allocated to minecraft once ive added this.
I don't like most of the wallpapers and tiles i've made, so they'll be mostly redone with a few exceptions.
Anyway, here's a look at the first 4 colors of hardened clay.

You could easily go far beyond Minecraft, but im glad you like makign this TP, Im tired of usign just glimar's not that its bad, but i want some choices lol, and i love how your not using conventional ideas
Also, for the ores, what if you made the multiple textures there too? i like the tardis idea, if you dont get the reference it looks like it was some fancy person's door if you used the multiple textures you could make some of the ores look like ores, and others like recycled junk. just a thought plus I dont think that it would make to much lag, maybe just a little.

I think it would mostly just increase load time when starting minecraft or changing to my tp.
That really doesn't suit my pack.
I was thinking of making it something of an easter egg, i'd just take the default character's clothes and make it more embarassing somehow.
Maybe with the underwear on the outside, or maybe a labcoat printed with a rubber duck pattern...
Nope, that wouldn't make any sense in my pack. I don't much like the military style.

Fancy!!
Bein' normal for suckers.

Like the diamond tools, it's copper and has vacuum tubes on it for who knows why.
It's an old diving suit with a creepy eye shaped window on the front.
Like it?

Brown, red, lime, and light blue.
Maybe you should try the Source Engine.
It's a good engine for making textures.
It enables you to do bumpmaps and stuff.
Nah, i'm fine with just doing minecraft textures.
