I attempted an end-portal-frame texture (using Im A Creepah's end stone texture and chunks of Ovo's stem texture), but sadly, it looks
so...

disney...
I have to say...Your's came out WAY better than mine would have xD.
If anything, The bright colors do add to a disney effect. In my opinion, darkening the portalframe pieces might help as well as doing the non-symmetrical pieces. Here's a darker version if you want to work off it. or you can continue the bright effect. Its up to you, as its your pieces, and everyone has their own opinion :smile.gif:
I also added it to the other endstone blocks so we can see what they look like. And also just incase anybody likes this first style you did and wants to add it to their texturepack.
<-- Doesn't quite fit does it? xD I may have to play with that one just a tad.
It still looks a little disney-ish, but its a bit better to me. I'll let you guys decide.

I'd been using eyedropper to pick colors from the Eye OF Ender I used, but I think I'll choose a darker color for the highlights maybe? And yes, I think I'll add some texture to the areas where the green, er... "bars" are. As well as the obvious making the vines less symmetrical.
Here's a lightening of the gold tools:
And here's an attempt at the Compass, Clock and Cane. Personally, I only like the compass, but I tried. :laugh.gif:

I also like the more subtle diamond. Would you be willing to try your hand at a more subtle gold as well? I know not many people use gold, but it is equally bright in Ovo's original work. For now, I will yoink this new diamond stuff and get to work on slapping that magical nonsense onto my wool texture for my own enchanting table! Yay!
Should I post an image of it when I finish it for others to use? Or am I the only weirdo making franken-textures with everyone's work here? :unsure.gif:

Lol thats perfectly fine! I'm still really new to texturing so Obviously I'm not to good at it xP. As for the clock and compass, I love them!! Sugarcane is a little too...neat I guess? idk, it looks strange bundled up like that, but its a good start!
The town line for NPC villages, I think? Something like that. Not sure if it'll ever be used, though... for now, I don't really see what purpose it would serve. Guess we'll have to wait for the finished NPC AI in order to find out?
Certainly. I wasn't sure if I still had it around or not, but as luck would have it, here it is:
Since the higher-end tools are all pretty much the same in shape and shading, I think it's mainly the color that makes it look so out of place. Here's a more subtle version:
Better?
Looks awesome.. And you're right, it was the colour.. now if only we could get those onto the customizer. xP
Ive done a few of the dyes. (You can ignore my portal-themed cake as I did that for my own giggles. I tried a shot at the Eye of Ender, Ender pearl, blaze rod and cookie, but I think you guys already have textures for those? You can see I've already plopped in some of the textures made by others too.)
Also, is it just me or is the Egg you get from killing the Enderdragon have no texture at all? I see where it's supposed to be, but it's just an empty hit-box. :sad.gif:
I LOVE your Ender Pearl and Eye and the magma cream much better than any of the others here. It feels appropriate that the items would be a higher-resolution mirroring of the default texture pack.
I don't like the rounded dyes though. I think the dyes should look like little cups of color- but that's my opinion. In and of themselves, the one's you've done are very pleasing.
I like the spider eye and fermented spider eyes, but I do think they should more closely resemble the eyes from the default taxture pack.

I did not do the spider eye, that was done by Demonette. However, if I do happen to do spider eyes, I think I'll still make them black since real spider eyes are black (at least I'm pretty sure).
I agree that the generic oval isn't all that great, but I wasn't sure if I wanted it in a bowl either. I'm a bit of a stickler for "mats used" when making items that were crafted. I was, however, tempted to put them on a piece of paper like gum on a wrapper. I'm still thinking it over. :laugh.gif:
Also, I might tone down the color in the magma cream and the blaze rod. The colors pop just a little too much, and need a bit of... "fiberus" texture (think something like the roughness in my dyes or on my compass). But as for things that have no real-life equivalent, then I usually just make "high-rez-rustic" versions of the default. What if the magma cream was like a "cats-eye" marble?
That reminds me, I should attempt a blaze sometime. Gl0u0m's is beautiful, but I can't really accept something that lives in fire, shoots fire and is supposedly made of fire, to now be made of unheated metal and wood. Sorry, Gl0u0m. :wink.gif:
I've still been iffy on my cookie. I'm not sure if I should take out some reddish-orange and make it more brown. I fear that altering it too much will leave a bland cookie. :laugh.gif:
Is it just me or is it when I use a texture for the enchanting table book everything appears, well, upsidedown? :unsure.gif: I can post a screen shot later, but... yeah, I'm a little confused.

The book texture is indeed applied upside-down. Any pack featuring readable text will have to flip everything for it to read correctly in-game... though the text I contributed just recently is not readable, I flipped it anyway, so the way it looks in-game is actually how it was intended to look.

I meant that after creating each page individually, I flipped them upside-down and then put them into the book.png so they would display right-side-up in the game.

Can someone add words.

I also made the shears. (Knife, could also be used for Iron Sword):
Touched up the reeds to look nicer:
Made the fishing rods:
And finally, I made the coco beans:
=) Bye!
p.s. working on the leather amour icons right now...
Just waiting for these to be uploaded.. If anyone wants to take on the challenge of iron armor, be my guest. :wink.gif:
Well I was actually thinking about it, but decided I should focus on other things first, like Terrain, Items, and GUI's
