News: A winter themed pack is now available! Includes all sorts of frosted and snowy textures for getting into the spirit of the season.
Why the name Thistle?
This is Thistle. She sits at my feet while I play Minecraft. She has a lot in common with the Minecraft wolves, specifically: intelligence. The cats beat her up and steal her bed.
What's the point of Thistle Pack? I'm a fan of highly ornate things and miniscule details. Unable to find a pack that exactly fit what I wanted I decided to try my hand at making my own. My ultimate goal is to have a customizer with lots of options from the traditional feel of Minecraft to decorative blocks that bring color to your game.
These blocks don't look like what they are! Yes. I know. This pack was made for me first (cause I'm selfish) and I'm not very fond of things like regular TNT and I love the color blue. So... until I get a customizer running you'll just have to deal with my own preferences. Besides. Wouldn't you rather have a pretty block for bedrock rather than just another gray slab?

And here are the much awaited links to download! I'd appreciate it if you'd use the adf.ly one. I'm curious to see how that all works and I promise that all money will be spent on overpriced coffee from Starbucks. adf.ly link Direct download
I highly recommend using the customizer. There's a lot of options so if you don't like the look of one block, chances are there's an alternate.
You will need to patch your game to use this pack. You can find the patcher here.
Winter Pack Screenshots
Winter has come to Minecraft and the world has been coated with frost. But the building still goes on and so new tools have been crafted to cope with this long winter.
Build your fortress with new ice-coated tools! Fight your enemies with icy weapons such as the ice arrows, ice sword, and the fearsome ice warhammer.
Explore a perpetual tundra with ice-coated trees and new flowers, tinseled pumpkins, and the rare ice melon.
Not even your buildings are safe, as the stone, cobblestone, and brick have all been coated with a layer of ice and snow.
Escape to the solace of indoors and try to stay warm with a slew of new candles scattered throughout. Just don't burn your house down.
I've removed the Winter Pack download as it's getting to be a pain to support, but you can find these textures on the customizer. Thistle Customizer
Animated Textures
If you have patched your game as I directed earlier, you can make use of these animated textures. I'm afraid I don't have screenshots... cause they're animated. To use these, download the zip and extract the files inside. Then, drop them into the top-level folder of your texture pack zip. So they'll go into the same location as the terrain.png is. If you don't like a particular animation, go in and delete it out of the pack. That simple!
To get on this list: make a kick-ass mod that lots of people use. Xie's Farming Mod - My favorite mod. It adds a bunch of new trees, plants and foods. 32x Textures

Reviews!
Here is a fantastic written review by 42and19. In the spoiler are more Youtube reviews.
This is a very attractive texture pack. I like what you've done with it so far. I'm not so fond of the wooden planks or the windows, but I'm just picky like that. Keep up the good work.
Two things jumped out at me. Your dirt has the same problem your grass did. The highlights need to flow over a bit more to lessen the grid feeling.
Also, your brick is very, very close to your cobble pattern. I actually thought you had copied the pattern. This may not be a bad thing as the textures will probably tile together well. It was a bit of a trip for me though. :biggrin.gif:

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'll keep working on the lava and water so I can get a download link for everyone. Right now my water 'skips' mid-animation so I'm trying to decide if it'll be easier to just redo the entire thing or figure out where I screwed it up.
This is absolutely incredible. I have seen you around the union and would like to invite you to apply, I believe you would be a great addition to the community. I can't believe this is your first pack. It's one of the best packs I've ever seen, and being the creator of the Texture Artist Union, I have seen a LOT of packs... Good job!

Wow, thank you, that is quite a compliment. I'll see about applying later this evening. It's early morning for me and I -should- be getting ready for work instead of typing this up right now...
Stopping by with another piece of constructive criticism. (plus a free bump :biggrin.gif: )
You glass needs depth. It is ornate and beautiful but seems flat especially compared to the rest of your pack.
Edit: apparently I am full of firsts with the thread.

Yay for free bumps! (especially since I don't know the bumping etiquitte around here yet)
The glass did have some shading on it, but since the details are so tiny... It looked really weird. Kind of blended into the scenery. I might have to change the entire pattern or make it light silver to contrast against the rest of the pack. I'll add that to my to-fix list.
Love it! :biggrin.gif:
It's not everyday I instantly fall in love with a texture pack, but this is pretty awesome, especially for your first pack great job!

Hello everyone! This is my first texture pack.

I see you fixed the grass. I am going to download those .pngs and give this a test run.
Hahah, awesome! Let me know if you find anything obviously off besides the handful of placeholders I have in there. I'm keeping a 'to-fix' list.

Either way, kill me now.
I wasn't planning on it. I kind of like working with 32x32. It's more forgiving with mistakes.
I re-size of course.
