It's amazing how with only a 16x16 square, you can make such glorious looking textures!

Hello! I'm a average minecrafter just browsing the forums. If you liked what I said/What I said was helpful, feel free to click that little green button!
Thanks everybody for your consideration! The economy kicked me in the nuts really bad and I might no longer be able to work on this pack but as long as I can, I will. It sucks, so don't hate me if I no longer reply to this thread or update the pack; I just promise I'll update at least once to 1.6.2, then who knows...
Shall this be updated to 1.6.1? If so, I would love to see your take on sounds, if you plan on doing any.
No sounds, sorry, not my field of expertise. I'll update to 1.6.2 as soon as I finish up a little thing but there won't be horses, I'm not inspired in doing mobs right now.
If Wedhro accepts requests, I'd ask that the Stone texture be a slightly lighter shade of grey, as it's a bit dark right now. Just my humble feedback.
As you can read in the OP I only take requests from donors. Regarding the stone, it used to be lighter but then I made it darker because I liked it more that way.
BTW, here's a preview on a neat little feature I'm working on right now. If your gaming rig can't handle shaders without melting I bet you're gonna love this:
Regular hardened clay uses the old clay texture so it appears as clay hardened and cracked by the sun, the stained ones look like clay sedimented rock so they'll look more natural when spawned in the yet to come canyon biome; this is temporary, I have 3 versions right now but I'm waiting for 1.7 to be released before choosing which one fits better.
Hay bales look like straw and have no visible strings so they can be used for roofing without being an eye sore.
Coal blocks look like anthracite so you can use it as an alternative block for building rock formations (they don't look artificial).
Birch foliage has now its own texture (I didn't even know it was possible in vanilla...).
Completely redesigned some old blocks:
Sandstone now looks much more realistic and fits better the terrain when found in nature.
Sand now looks soft and wavy, more realistic especially in deserts.
Clay is now smooth and wet (most of the time you find it underwater, so...). Color is gray once again.
Obsidian is now jagged and bumpy as naturally formed obsidian instead of a polished surface.
MCPatcher only:
Changed the light map in order to make shading and lightning more realistic and atmospheric. Believe it or not, if you can't run shaders on your gaming rig this will make the difference! Beware, though, because this will impact gameplay since artificial light is less efficient and nights are very dark without light, not to mention you won't see very well with Night Vision, especially at day, weird effects in alternate dimension and so on. If you don't like this changes you'll better delete the assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/lightmap folder.
More realistic and different colors at sunrise and sundown.
More realistic color for water drops and lily pads.
Some tweaks:
Better lily pads, pumpkin blur and sun.
Fixed a few visual "bugs" such as white dots on foliage and grass at Short rendering distance.
I don't know why, but I don't see the light effects when using McPatcher. I tested this with and without mods besides McPatcher and couldn't get it to work. I could see the lightmap files in the texturepack, so it's my problem.
Edit: Seems like the lighting doesn't work with increased brightness, nvm.

Yeah, the pack is designed to work at Moody light level, higher levels wash away the shadows. There's nothing I can do about it, it's just how the game works.
It's fine, also, I belive McPatcher supports this better than Optifine, but I don't need it. The problem with GLSL shaders is that I can't run it on a maximized Minecraft screen. Also, I just tried it and think it's amazing, as I haven't seen this lighting in a long time! Along with the pack, it's even better. I don't know why, but 256x and up texture packs aren't always great, especially when a lot of good ones simply became outdated. So, great work on a 16x16 pack!
I don't comment often, but this time I must. I love HD default packs (ex: 32x32 Faithful,) but my computer doesn't run them so well. Your texture pack is awesome and one of the best 16x16 texture packs I have seen. Nice Job!
A lot of people was asking me to release lighting effects as a standalone pack in order to use vanilla textures instead of mine. This pack just does that: lighting only, all textures stay vanilla. Feel free to add these light maps to your own resource pack, I just ask you to give me credit and put a link to this thread.
Using MCPatcher or Optifine is mandatory here, otherwise you won't see any difference.
NOTE: this pack includes a total of 4 different versions; unzip the pack and follow the instructions in the READ ME.txt file
Also: this is not a mod. It's a resource pack. Put it in the resource pack folder. You know the drill.

Do you have download links to the older versions? In particular I am looking for v1.6.3 for Minecraft 1.5.2 (sorry, stuck on 152 since I am playing FTB Unleashed.)

Could you help me with this? How to install this is very weird, you don't seem to have any tutorials.
Looking at the installation instructions on the first page are a bit vague. It seems that you would place the files in the .zip file provided by the author into the minecraft.jar file and delete the META-INF. If you use MultiMC then I placing the mod zip file into <MultiMC directory>\instances\<instance_name>\instMods should load the Pixel Reality mod during the start of the game overriding base Minecraft classes.

i was having some problems also with the instalation. I figured out that he zipped the whole folder, but not the content (assets etc.)
I just downloaded it and no, if you unzip the pack there's only its content, no unnecessary folders. There's no installation worth mentioning, if you don't know how to install a resource pack you may want to check the wiki and learn the basics of Minecraft.

Looking through the Curse site I found the following: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/texture-packs/pixel-reality/files/4-pixel-reality-v1-7-1-zip/
It seems that version 1.7.1 is for 1.5.2 Minecraft.

Tutorial for installing a resource pack...? ∙ _ ∙
OK: put it in the resource pack folder than select it from the menu.
The only installation you need to get the full experience is MCPatcher or Optifine, please check the respective threads for further instructions.

It's a resource pack, not a mod.
Thanks, but not a mod. ☻___☻
