Added new 1.4 items: Anvil, mob heads, Flower Pot, Item Frame, Potato and Carrots.
Added a few old items: Chest, Large Chest, Minecart, Book on the enchanting table and Boat.
Changed a few particles: now XPs are represented by Futhark runes (they even come out from libraries near enchanting tables). Critical hits are represented by little, unobtrusive dots; imagine it as sparkles or (for major hits) blood drops.
Completely redesigned a few blocks: more realistic Oak and Spruce Wood, Gravel is now made of tiny pebbles.
Plants which color depends on biome are now more colorful: I managed to let them have different colors from each other (for example, ferns are greener than tall grass), as well as subtle color variation (for example, in grass there are a lot of slightly different hues of green).
A few major tweaks: darker dirt and stone, especially Stone Slabs, wood-made blocks which color doesn't change with wood type have now a color that goes well with any kind of wood, Bed has visible sheets and looks better overall, new biome colors including darker Jungles.
A lot of minor tweaks: more lightning on Cobblestone, better Mossy Cobblestone and Stone Bricks, darker Iron Block and Cocoa Pods, softer Snow, more grainy Sand, better smoke particles etc.
Nice texture pack, why isn't it famous?
Grazie mille!
Non c'è di che!
Maybe PR is not famous just because it's a niche pack: low resolution, not colorful, not JRPG style... Or maybe I just suck at advertising. I'd be glad if people shared this thread on social networks, it would help.
Compatible with new texture layout introduced with snapshot 13w02a.
Mods are no longer needed to see custom water animation.
Side grass renders as Fast even in Fancy; don't know why, I bet it's a bug.
Don't use this version if you play Minecraft 1.4.7 or below.
Considering how much work the transition to Minecraft 1.5 will require I'm no longer supporting Pixel Reality Faithful. Don't worry, though, the new texture system means it will never get incompatible with future versions.
Shame this is not as popular as it should be, it is just so amazing. I can understand it is frustrating, and I cannot blame you for not continuing it. Imma just bump it now.
Note: this pack is now available on Curseforge (3.000 downloads in a month vs. 1.800 in 20 months on AdF.ly!) so you may want to subscribe there and get updates directly from your Curse client. 1.5 is not yet supported on Curseforge but you can get a preview here (link on first page).
Added new blocks and a few old ones: Beacon's beam, Arrow (as 3D item), Redstone Block, Nether Quartz blocks, Comparator, Dropper, Hopper, Nether Quartz, Activator Rail, Daylight Detector and Trapped Chests.
Custom sky, biome-dependent underwater and sky colors (you need MCPatcher to see them).
Many tweaks, including no more "plus" particles on villagers upgrading their trades, softer and grainier Sandstone with smooth top (no more tiling, it looks bad when naturally generated), Sand is now wavy, better rails, better Repeater, smaller Redstone Torches (repeaters and comparators look to messy with big torches), Tripwire is now translucent (if hooked it's no more invisible, just more translucent), smoother "destroy" effect on blocks, fixed underwater being too light at night (still quite light, needs some more work).
Better compatibility in biome colors with mods adding new biomes.
WARNING: Don't use this version if you play Minecraft 1.4.7 or below.

Looking back upon this post, I realized you are only discontinuing the FAITHFUL version. Phew. Anyways, great new update, still using the pack. I'm just going to shamelessly bump this constantly because people NEED to see this.

I just got the newest version of this pack after trying out an earlier one a few months ago, I gotta say it's coming along very nicely! Can we expect a GUI overhaul in the future?
The GUI is 99% ready, I just have to solve a few issues before releasing it.
PS: How did you come up with using a rune for XP? I looked it up and as far as I understand it stands for victory, success, and the adding of wisdom. It seems very fitting, but what gave you the idea?
Basically XPs in Minecraft represent some kind of energy used to imbue tools with magical powers, pretty much what Futhark runes represent in historical magic.
I just tried to turn the silly (IMO) enchanting mechanics in Minecraft into something consistent and the best thing I could come up with is visualizing the characters as magicians extracting magical essence from a dying monster's soul and attuning it to the Gods, which turn it into magical runes that the magician can later impress in tools to make them powerful. Not really consistent or sensible, but close enough.
Hey, I can't get the signature to work?! I copy paste it directly in, but it always just gives me the text.
Maybe you're using the wrong editing mode, that code needs to be inserted as plain text in order to work. Got to My settings -> Signature and then look if the formatting buttons are greyed out; if not, click on the switch icon (top left) and try the code again.

Wowowowow, that's good!! Everything looks so great (my only regret is the grass side), your leaves, your wood, your colors.. The leaves on the spruce are the best i've ever seen. this pack is one of the best x16!
Looks good but your mobs need a bit of work, mabye increase resolution on them
It's a 16x pack, increasing resolution is out of question. The only mobs needing some work are the one i didn't do yet, such the villagers or the dragon, I don't think I can do a better job on the ones I've already done other than a few minor tweaks.
When I saw this texture pack I was so excited, because I don't have optifine or Mcpatcher, so I was really happy about seeing a 16x realistic texture pack. And when I opened Minecraft with it, I was not disappointed. This texture pack really gives a realistic feel, and it does so using 16 bit. I highly recommend getting this texture pack, I assure you that you will not regret it.

No problem! Just added it as my signature.

TL;DR: I read far too many fantasy books.
If that doesn't solve your issue ask the admins.
Thanks alot, it works now!

Find me on Twitter and Steam as TotalTonix.
Now a little preview of the next update including a complete GUI overhaul; it will be released when Minecraft 1.5.2 is out.
