Hey guys! Some of you may have seen these textures before, and that's because I'm re-starting this thread to get a fresh start. I kinda jumped the gun last time (posting before I had very much done), so hopefully now I'll get a better response.
In any case, this is a jungle Mayan/Aztec -ish pack made for all you adventurers and explorers out there. I started off trying to make a Tomb Raider texture pack, but quickly found that the game itself didn't really have enough reference textures :/
You must have the HD patcher installed in order to use this pack!If you try to use it without patching, you'll see all kinds of visual glitches (fire on bricks, gold, pumpkins, etc.). NONE of these glitches are caused by this pack.

Video by DiamondProphet (wow, that was fast!):
Review by Soit12:
Let's play video I made way back when. Takes place on Survival Island (link in description).
SHAZAM. Check out my ziggurat.
New! 1.8 stuff!
New! Darker, wetter dirt and less annoying sidegrass:
New! Old army radio,TNT, and bedrock:
Wolves. Now with optional harness for easy carrying.
Pistons. Made with cobble texture for building secret doorways....
Weapons! The iron sword is now a machete (backwards to work with animation), and the diamond sword is a sacrificial dagger-- one-hit KO ftw!
CREDITS: HUD bar and buttons by Croco15 (more visible skull cursor by me)
NEW! Alternate GUI by Croco15! To use, open the zip file with 7zip or winrar, go into the gui folder, delete the files named 'gui', 'inventory', and 'crafting', and delete the '_alt' from 'gui_alt', 'inventory_alt' and 'crafting_alt'.
Coming soon-- two different pack versions! One will feature a 'native Aztec theme' (complete with revamped GUI), and the other with an 'old world explorer' theme, featuring GUI made by Croco15.
...If I try to take that, am I going to get crushed by a giant bolder?
"We have finally found them-- the ancient scrolls of Atlantis!....syke."
Grow your own maize!
Tooks some creative liberties with the ores. Redstone is now magic bones, and lapis lazuli is now...in a jar. A really old jar.
Exotic sheep-- now available in leopard fur, snake skin, and parrot feathers.
Yellow flowers are now ferns, and roses have become venus fly traps. Don't get too close.
Ooo. Pointy things.
Nether. The netherack is covered with corrupted vines pulsing with blood, and glowstone is embedded with eerie chunks of amber.
..lots of lava...have fun getting to that chest.... 0_o
(Screenshot taken using the Kaizo Caverns map)
Yes, it DOES snow in Peru.
*Added alternate lantern-style glowstone. If you don't like it, feel free to change it out. Alternate dirt, sidedirt, sidegrass, and wood planks by the lovely Croco15*
And last but not least, the obligatory test track shot.

Oh my god, thank you so much! I'll post this up right away!
you're welcome :tongue.gif:
I came here, i saw it, i downloaded it, installed it and i just had to show this
hopefully you'll continue this till it's finished!
Ack! Well, my mistake. I haven't used the default in months so I didn't know!
What pack have you been using? (and don't worry-- I haven't used default in a while either XP. I wouldn't know the difference if I wasn't editing textures)

Honestly, I've been having a crisis since I've downloaded a lot of texture packs, now I don't know what to choose and am not satisfied. I've even tried HD packs, and now I just went back to 32x and 16x, or looking for more interesting themed packs. Right now, I'm using yours xD since I've never used a mayan themed pack, and there's not really a lot of them. Really looking forward to this one!

Yeah, I tried a few HD packs too. They were all just a little too...busy. Too many pixels. It was like mixing wine and hotdogs-- super-detailed textures just didn't look right on giant cubes. 32x seems to be just right, though; enough detail to be satisfying, but still retaining that pixelated look.

My only gripe is the lapiz lazuli. It looks a bit too blurry.
Oh my god, thank you so much! I'll post this up right away!
...are you talking about the block? Because I haven't gotten around to changing the big blue cube yet.
Definitely. I'm rather fond of this one.
Thank you! :smile.gif:
Glad you like. That water took me forever to do. 0_o

Thanks for the diamonds!

My comments are: This is great! I always imagined the Minecraft fellow to be a sort of Indy/Quartermain style adventurer, this just makes it easier.
My Suggestions are: Finish with all haste!
Can do! I'm working on turning wheat into maize right now, and it's looking pretty f**king awesome, if I do say so myself.
