Well first off, it's just stone, not smooth stone. But if you don't like visible patterns then I would suggest turning on CTM in the patcher of your choice to get random textures. My random stone is about 50% "smooth" and 50% cracks on the sides, and 80% smooth on the tops.
Sorry I don't have anything to post today guys. I'm on the east coast so my power has gone out a lot. So assuming I survive Sandy I'll have time to work some more when it's passed.
Point taken. I used "disagreed" in quotes to highlight just how minor it was, all considered. Like Wayuki's speedo zombies. Those are terrifying.
I absolutely love the way some trees have faces.
Is it just me or did I just see a face in some stone too?
Seeing rare random faces in inanimate objects should be a theme in your pack.
Something to make it unique. Of course this should only be natural objects.
Your cobblestone should definitely be the next texture to add CTM to because it doesn't exactly tile too well.
As in I can see a really obvious horizontal pattern, not that it has visible seams.
I was wondering when someone would notice the stone face! That was my plan with that one, to sneak it in without mentioning it and make it very rare. There may be more in the future.
And yeah I didn't spend much time making the cobblestone tile perfect since I knew I was going to CTM it. I'd like to change the contrast and color somewhat as well.
Also, I love the menu background, great job on that one
Thank you, I did it completely myself without any help from anyone!
Actually I'm going to redo the OP once I finish the GUI, and I was thinking of adding a "special thanks" section. I'll be sure to mention you in there for making that!
Speaking of GUI, here's some more progress, including the stone style:
I've seen it but I didn't want to spoil it as I've been a bit surprised at first !
By the way, look what I've found exploring my map :
-snip-
I felt lucky ^^
I think I found a face crying blood. (Or maybe it was syrup? Something red.)
In stone I also found some sort of weird face thing.
Oh, right, I just recently started using it again. It's been a while since I have, and I've been really happy to see the fanshy shmanshy stuff you've done with CTM that I wasn't seeing before.
Oh man, they're even both the same face, not one open mouth one closed.
Thank you, I did it completely myself without any help from anyone!

YES! This is excellent! I sooooooo can not wait for this! I especially love the stone one.
Awesome, and I appluad your masochistic choice to make each interface unique. I'm not a big fan of the shade of brown you picked though; could benefit from a little desaturation as it's a bit on the unappealing shade of brown. Just my opinion though.

Dusty your jelly of his pack. Hahahaha I like yours too btw

I think everything looks awesome!!! 100% better than current. Also, any idea when you will be releasing the update?

I have to agree with some others, the stone theme looks fantastic but the color scheme on the wood theme looks a little sickly. Other than that it's great as well.
You should all know the stonework is probably expontentially more work. With the metal/wood he can copy/paste most of it and fill the rest with a wood pattern. The stone version would need to be hand-made to fit around the contraints of each and every interfact -- a ton of work. The fact that he's making each interface somewhat unique is a lot of work itself.
I do really like the stone pattern you have going on in the bg of the furnace, really nice texture Would be interesting seeing that in-game using CTM or something.

I can change the wood color some. I originally had it the same as my oak planks, and the border the same as my iron block, but they didn't look the way I wanted for the GUI. I think the wood just needs to be less yellow, and perhaps desaturated some as you said.

Yes, spot on with that one. The stone took considerably longer than the others. Right now I only plan on doing it for Furnace, Trap, and Enchanting table (with obsidian colors and cloth or paper on it.) And I think I will make and iron BG version of the wood one for the anvil.
The stone is sort of what I was going for with my CTM stone I have now, it's just higher contrast and deeper cracks.
This is a very underused texture pack!
So far every server I join, the structures naturally fit in and I don't believe I have seen anything out of place.
My favorite blocks to use with this texture pack are the Nether blocks.
That's good to know that it works alright with structures that people built with other packs in mind.
have the updates been added yet? ive been using my own cursor which is just 5 dots, 1 in the middle and 4 around it. it looks good and isnt distracting and asymmetrical like the default derivation.
also have birch been fixed yet?

No, I like to keep my updates to substantial things. So it won't be updated until I finish the GUI.
Thanks I think? Not sure I would though, plenty of good cursors out there already.

What he said was legitimate criticism.
I agree with it, actually. The planks seem a bit too bright or yellowish.

The face is crying red sap. Read or watch A Game of Thrones!
