edit: after the initial looks i can safely say this is absolutely perfect however one can complain about the wildgrass. I think the wildgrass is too short and i find it rather hard to see it. Making it almost pointless for me to terraform my land into a grassy area.
Love your pack. Its so good that sometimes I see it and im like wow is that bump mapped or 3d? Best 64 by 64 ever. Anyways past 64 it looks bad, I know, its a paradox. Your pack needs to include the shrubs and tall grass, they are invisible. :C
They are in the last version, you should see them. Well the dead shrub is a small pink flower for now... It's not as visible as in the default textures.
I would go with the one with the pinholes. It looks like a soundhole cover on an acoustic guitar. I really like what you've doen with the note block!
As for the jukebox, I've seen some packs where the top surface of it is a record turntable instead of just a slot. You've already got some very nice sides above.
If not a turntable, then how about something that makes it look like a music box?

Really love the note block and wanted to ask what mod will be included in this next? I think as an off away from others mod that may be easy to do is the premium wood since it would mainly be slight color changing.

Yep, one or the other probably, unless I get struck by some nutty idea. :smile.gif:

I'm not using any single player mods so I won't start supporting them before I'm done with everything else. But if someone has made rustic compatible textures for a mod and wants me to include them in the pack, I will.

Thanks. Already answered to your last inquiry, shrubs and tall grass are already in, but they are very discreet indeed. I'll change that soon.

LOVE this pack. The tools are my favourite piece because they look 3D but I am happy with the actual texture of the blocks, especially the logs. Custom GUI please :biggrin.gif:
Thanks. The GUI is one big job, there's a few things I want to do before I start working on the GUI.

for those who don't like the pinholes you could make an alternates.png without the pinholes.
i also would go for those with pinholes.
when does the next update come??
I'll wait for someone who actually want an alternate png without holes to ask me, cause the difference doesn't seem important enough to me. :wink.gif:
Version 1.0 will be when I have finally completed the terrain.png. That is, when I've done or redone : tall grass, shrubs, juke-box, bed, TNT, repeater, cake. (Yeah, totally not what I've said in my "Prospects")
I was talking about after you are done with the pack so you stay fresh between the short time (or long while) that it takes to update a pack for new objects. You should by no means start making a mod compatible in the middle of finishing the actual pack. I apolagise for bieng selfish by asking for one of the mods I want to use be the first once you are finished, but not done with the pack.
PS part of the gui could be as simple as wood style gui you have for wooden objects and the stone or whatever next stone you have for stone made objects. Labels and highlights as easy as some gold trim or plating. ~Anti
Disappointed again. Notch is now licensing Minecraft to Microsoft. As if he so needed money that he had to sell the emblem of indie games to the emblem of capitalism.
Now I'm wondering, do I really want to improve the game of a rich supporter of capitalism, for free ? I'd rather be working for one of the countless libre projects out there or to earn a better living.
I've been thinking of abandonning this texture pack lately and this is adding another reason to do so. The first reason is that it's eating up most of my free time and the progress is too slow, I don't see the end of it. I'm not passionate enough to go on and on for months. Plus, there are a few other very good HD texture packs available already, which makes me feel a bit useless and I don't like being in competition with them. (When I started, Doku hadn't released Dokucraft yet, notably.)
Btw, I have PMed a couple of other HD pack makers last week about teaming up to make and support an HD pack professionally, but no answer yet so it's certainly a "no".
Yeah, so... no decision taken yet.
If I abandon, the few people who donated on the promise of getting a full pack one day will obviously be reimbursed. :smile.gif:
I suppose most of you will encourage me to continue and I thank you in advance for your support, but I don't think it will influence on my final decision.
This pack is one of the few pack that i'm comfortable leaving unmodified the way it is, simply
because of its originality and fitting"ness" to the minecraft style.
And on the subject of Microsoft buying the Minecraft name and stuff, Notch will soon realize
the bad decision he's making. It is companies like Microsoft that buy out every big name series.
It's a real shame considering Minecraft's uniqueness, simplicity, and for the fact that it will no longer be run by 8 guys in Sweden, but now a money hoarding corporation.
Once again, your art style is magnificent and you should be proud of the time and effort you put into this project. I would be pleading for it to not be true that you're interested in abandoning this pack, but ultimately it is your decision and not a single person on the internet can change it.
I wish you can it least finish the terrain, for this pack truly is excellent, but on the subject of you and a few HD guys working on a pack, i'm ready. Having you on their squad is a great contribution.
To conclude, it is your decision, but you must consider that of others. There are so many of us that adore your pack, and it's sad to see this pack end before finishing.
Thanks for your time, effort, and true hardwork,
Schwaa.
Sorry to hear that you are considering this decision. I hope you'll at least finish the terrain.png as well.
I want you to know that my donation was never conditional, it was simply to express my appreciation for what you had already done and to help you along. If you choose not to continue, that's certainly your prerogative.
We may have a difference of opinion on Notch's decision and a different outlook on Microsoft, but that's neither here nor there. I am personally taking a "wait and see" attitude and I'm hoping we'll get a clearer understanding on what it will mean for all of us playing on the PC.
Thanks for everything you've done, and I hope you won't decide in haste. There's still time to make the game we're already playing more enjoyable still, no?

"Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn... it's just a game that you play."
Actually, MS has mentioned that there will be cross functionality between the PC and 360 versions.
So, IMO, this may be a good thing. It's nice to see the real thing rise up and take that copycat FortressCrap off the platform for good. And who can begrudge Notch for following success?
I say we keep on keeping on - there's still a game for us to play here.

Then why post here or continue to make the textures? I've followed this pack from time to time and I see nothing but immense support for your efforts. Yet I've often seen you complain about being unmotivated and you reference lack motivation once again in this last post about not wanting to continue. I don't think your avid fans deserve a wishy washy attitude. You are one of the most downloaded 64x texture packs and yet complain about competition. Now you complain about Notch's agreement with Microsoft which isn't even related to the PC version. To me it seems like you're looking for excuses to stop, in which case you probably should so you don't lead your fans to believe you'll finish some day.
There are people making packs that don't have half of the support you do and yet they're emphatic about designing. If you have the time to do it, great, if not, don't. But seeing you complain about time, money, motivation, support and competition just makes you come across as an extremely needy person. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but I feel bad for the people who support you, not knowing if this project will continue or not.
We get that this takes a lot of time and you put a lot of effort into it. Appreciation for that has been expressed time and time again.
About Notch and Microsoft, he said Mojang would keep total control of the PC version, so there's definitely nothing wrong for us on the pure facts. I don't begruge Notch for following his success, I would do the same if I didn't have those big ideals that tend to drive my life.

You are taking my words from the bad side too much. I'm trying to be transparent here about my feelings and my possible decisions that will follow, instead of just saying sorry after days without news or simply disappearing. I like to give as much information as I can (maybe this is not always a good thing). So yes, I could just stop without saying anything, but I hope some appreciate that I care to give them information on the human aspect of this project. Which is not perfect, I admit ; I'm a person with complex and not always positive feelings and thoughts ; but you have to deal with it. :smile.gif: Well if you don't want to, you can also just don't follow this thread.
PS: Okay if I continue, I promise I'll stop speaking about lack of motivation, money, Notch and sandwiches. I apologize for the frustration I have caused !

That would be great for the jukebox but how do you represent this on a flat texture ? :wink.gif:
Cool ! You could upload this to planetminecraft.com if not already done ! And yes, I'd be interested to see the rest of your city. :smile.gif:
So guys, with or without the pinholes on the center thing ? (This is the note block)
Feels good to be done with this block !
Tomorrow, tall grass.
Edit: Ah, didn't see your post, PumaBearLionMan. Too late ! ^^
