I don't have a good estimate on a release date yet. I will, however, get a "beta" going pretty quick here so people can atleast play with the new foliage and other blocks that I have finished as I work on everything else.
Pardon the noob question, but will this beta release be compatible with MC 1.6.4?
Just wanted to say, I love your Photo Realistic so much, I usually won't upgrade to the new version of minecraft until your latest version of the Photo Realistic Pack is out.
Now, at the pain of sounding like a neophite, I hear tell from the posts that there is a beta out there. How do I get it so I can start playing around in 1.7? (BTW, I'm still back at 1.6.2 ;( )
if u read the last 2 pages u will see scuttles said he gonna release a beta so its not out yet.

Can't wait for it to come out. I've been having fun prepping my world for 1.7; getting all the arieas mapped out so I don't have strange terrain artifacts after the new map generator gets ahold of it

-coal block
-podzol blocks for new biome
-red sand
-packed ice
-possibly new leaves/logs. Not many photos in my archive for leaves at the moment.
I've just finished pacifying the clay colors to become more "earth-like". I'll try to get as much done as I can. Expect a release Saturday.
I'll post some screens of the new content up tonight as well.
I can't wait to see the blue orchids! Bright blue is my favorite color so I hope they are a nice stand out rich bright medium blue color, not washed out and pale. <3what is left to do on top of the other things you listed?Have you seen faerie's photo realism pack? They will pop out fairly nice in the environment. =)
I've got a ton of icon work to do as well as GUI. I want to also work on the biome colors with the new biome system that has been implemented. I wish to blend them more seamlessly and realistically.
I've looked into the pack and it seems they have a ways to go on improving seamless textures as well as tweaking the colors for a more fluid and organic world.
That being said, the birch texture you mentioned is far more stylized than it is in our world but it does "pop" as you said. =)

Things I noticed after quickly changing to this. (I'll try not to repeat what's already been pointed out)
new planks for the 2 new trees missing.. All tree logs have there own ends now so they are defaulting to vanilla or showing your oak end.
Dark Oak tree defaulting to vanilla.
New leafs defaulting to vanilla
double tall Peony defaulting to vanilla, and azure bluet defaulting to vanilla
Trapped Chests are defaulting to vanilla.
other than that I think it's been mentioned already.
