I don't suppose you would ever consider putting the old water back in, would you? I used to love the bright color of it in contrast to the more barren look of the land.
I agree. I really like the water in that image.
I think this texture pack is AMAZING but the water looks grayish/ugly/digusting.
And I know that's to make it fit in the theme more, but honestly, that old water looked way better.

I cannot stress enough how much better the old water was.
They quit Minecraft for awhile judging by some earlier posts, hope they come back. We've lost too many texture pack artists to 1.8+. Even the guy that manages the list of texturepacks seems to have vanished.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Java is bulky, slow, hogs resources, passes out from exhaustion, and although it was big in the 90's is now typically only found on poorly designed websites. Much like Harry Knowles. So any time Minecraft crashes, blame Java.

Tbh, a lot of us youtubers are pretty annoyed by 1.8+ as well. A lot of the changes have seriously gimped the game in favor of making it more accessible to people with tandy 486s for personal computers. I'm actually so annoyed that I'm compiling a list of a few hundred things I want to change in the game then making a mod after all the ideas are panned out. Up to about a good 150 to 200 things listed out that need serious fixing. Everything from fixing the shitty lazy way most of the new mobs were implemented, to the horrid xp and enchanting system, as well as dozens of bug fixes, additional options to control lag in ways that don't ruin mob science or the fun of spelunking for that matter and even Endermen fixes since Notch didn't even bother to finish them before walking away... etc.
I honestly view the adventure update as a complete genre shift. The game went from being the greatest sandbox game ever made to one of the shittiest platformers I've ever had the displeasure of playing from start to finish in one patch. Thank god the sandbox is still intact... sorta. But if I wanted to play a platformer, I'd emulate Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie; not play Minecraft. Just saying.
Yeah he probable got totally disappointed in the whole mine-craft official release thing.
Oh wait! It's me and I did!
Enchanting is a CRAP short term game feature when minecraft is a very long term game, what ever happened to the skills he said he would add? That would fit the long gameplay style of minecraft and actually add some accomplishment and benefit to surviving and building in the same world for ages?
Getting better and mining or chopping wood, everyone likes levelling!
Heck my whole minecraft server community faded away after the release.
Anywho.. I'll probably get back to this eventually guys if I ever feel like playing MC again. Is there much missing from it? I haven't been playing minecraft for a while..
Also.
Skyrim, I've been playing it a lot, Not that I'm impressed with the crazy dumbing down that has happened to skyrim. Buts it's still better then all the other crap that comes out these days.
But if I wanted to play a platformer, I'd emulate Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie; not play Minecraft. Just saying.
That reminds me, I've been meaning to emulate spyro again for a while to remember how good games use to be.
Seya!
EDIT 2: And WTF Notch you didn't even fix biome blending since you bloody broke it a few updates ago!
Why have a water triangle if you're not even going to use it?
Yes please update the texturepack. Do it as a christmas gift to the people.
You have the greatest pack there is.
I'm a patient man and know Aza will ultimately deliver something amazing with every block and item panned out in it. But these default textures I'm suffering atm are atrocious. If I have to look at one more piece of glass in default, I will find some real glass and gouge out my eyes.
I'm still waiting on a proper update to this pack...but in the meantime I'm going to try and work on my own version. Good luck to you Aza, and I hope you get back on track soon.
I would just like to say this mod is epic and I would recommend it to anyone:
Personally I don't even use it for the shadows (which I turned off because of dud torches). It just has excellent colour grading and great motion blur.
But the dynamic shadows are definitely amazing.
A warning though make sure you have a beefy system or expect a bit of lag.
Also these are the settings I use for my texture pack which I think suit it very well.
-Shadows off
-Heavy motion blur (personal taste)
-Bit of a glaring sun feel.
It actually looks a bit like what the weather around here has been like for a while, Just imagine a really hot dry heat.
I agree. =P

Why don't you make a "Aza's humid pack"?
I would use it :biggrin.gif:

I AM DISAPPOINTED.

Jungle stuffs.
Place-holders for other stuff.
If there is anything urgent and game-breaking let me know.
My interest in MC is minimal atm but I'll try to do a little work on my texture pack for you guys.
For instance: What minecraft should have looked like on release =P
