well minecraft isn't dying. It is dynamic and changing and going in a better direction. Minecraft alpha wasn't minecraft, minecraft alpha was about getting the game engine sorted out and that was it.
My point was that you could downgrade.
I'm beginning to tired of all this incessant whining on here about things such as this, the solution is simple enough. MCnostagia goes back as far as a version of Infdev.
Downgrade doesn't give the same experience as it actually did.
Hm... I pretty much did what you did with the alpha, now beta. They have served me well in eating my time and sucking my creative juices away, but they must be laid to rest. Now I welcome 1.0 and future updates!
Because that's generally what you do when stuff is changing, ya know, in case you wanna go back to the old version. I've got back-ups of games from 5 years ago still. I should really delete those...
Aha I've still got the Beta 1.3 jar :L I don't plan on deleting old things though, it's nice to go back to basics sometimes.
I would ask you for that jar, but it's illegal, heh. I wish I had gotten on board with Minecraft sooner, collecting and keeping all the jar files would be a cool memento. I only started playing (super) late 1.7.3 though.

We're only human we all make mistakes. go bother someone else.

well if you backed up your jar files then you wouldn't have this problem
Also it was never 8-bit.
why in gods name would i backup jars for 3 years.
i never expected the game to end out to be a emo's paradise.

What? Are you saying only emos play now? Are you calling me emo? Are you calling YOURSELF emo?

It is simple, if you don't like the game, then don't play. We do not care if you like it or not.
Methinks slight nostalgia goggles.
Not even this one?
