Maybe it was too dark, since it gets dark when it rains, but they are surrounded by torches.
That is definitely odd. I've never had a farm die off for any reason other than being trampled, and now that isn't going to happen either. What about water? Do you have water within 4 blocks of the planted blocks, and is the water at the same level as the planted blocks? If the blocks are not getting water, that would also cause them to die off. My typical beginning farm looks something like:
And then I put fences or two high blocks around it to keep it from being trampled.

if eneyone watches The Syndicate Project and his newist vids...you notice a airship that has crashed leading him to a very large city at one point,IDK if this is a bug our a new and EPIC feacher in the 1.0 secret update 2!
and please dont reply saying FAKE!
Ok......
If notch were going to add random encounters, don't you think he would start with ones that don't require advanced terrain generation? Like:
Thunderstormless lightning
Ghast that spawns in the regular world but explodes like a creeper
Random signs ("X marks the spot", "dungeon below", "Stronghold", "Bob was here", ect.)
Meteor strikes
Enderman with a sword/bow
Huge chickens (or other huge mobs)
ect. ect.
Also why would notch add this new generation when current generation has not been tweaked at all (mines, strongholds, and ravines are buggy!) with the 1.0 update!!???
The video isn't fake though!
It's just a lie.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly.
It’s the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out.
I’d rather be in, in a good system. That’s where my discontent comes from:
being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin’ straight ahead.
Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

What makes you say that? It hasn't killed any of mine, and here is another example:
I can confirm the same thing was happening to me. I had fully grown wheat (on already hydrated farmland, all touching a water source) in a save that was raining when I quit, and as soon as I loaded they started uprooting. My guess is possibly a new feature where snowfall is supposed to destroy farmland ("frost") but (as it was an older world and) the re-introduction of taiga biomes it changed for the seed, fossibly making the game thinking it is snowing not raining?
Also: A pumpin stem uprooted, however the seeds did not appear until moments later

That is a very good point! If it was an old version world, it very well could be caused by a climate change / calculation issue.

Well, the last two snapshots were released on Thursdays, so I'd say that is how it will be from now on. Also I'm pretty sure that snowfall is now intended to kill crops (or just farmland blocks).it's just weird, Idk hard to test somebody compare the code with crops/weather :sad.gif:
EDIT: also, lilypads now have collision

-Sheep eat grass and regain their wool
-Farmland is no longer destroyed by items and particles (haha, lol…)
-Added multiple languages
-Added a “spawn mob” egg item to creative mode
-Corrected a setTileEntity multiplayer bug
-Corrected a powered rail bug
-Corrected a redstone update bug
Is it me or did jeb really mess up the biomes? I keep finding snow biomes like crazy and some biomes are now a lot smaller. I mean, I like a semi common snow biome, but man this is way too common.

Will a 1.0 client work on this server snapshot?
Will the snapshot client work with a 1.0 server?
Thanks in advance.
Yes and yes, Jens told so :wink.gif:

edit; it also seems that dropped items from crops no longer uproot nearby crops.
