Whenever I try to make a new world on any of the 1.9 pre releases, my game crashes. I think it's the world generator, because I can play it on 1.8 maps, until i get to a part where the 1.9 chunks start and the 1.8 chunks end. It really sucks, and if they don't fix it in the final of 1.9, I won't be able to play minecraft at all. :C

These things aren't for the computer illiterate. Your browser has nothing to do with it.

that's the right folder... what you need to do is delete that file, and the minecraft.jar if you're still having trouble, then drag it in. if it asks you something, you want to MOVE AND REPLACE. what you're doing is moving it but renaming it as well.
Did anyone really buy Minecraft with the hopes of one day making potions?
Nope, that idea never passed my mind when i bought Minecraft, this adventure update is really changing minecraft faster than any other update i've experienced.

When you reply to someone who is asking for help, dont tell them they're an idiot. Help them!
If you download a prerelease and it's ina zip, then make a folder called 'minecraft.jar' without the quotes, and put all the files in that. Then use the folder in place of your normal jar, and you're done. However, you can't force update. You have to manually delete the file in the bin.
