1.8 killed my FPS in single player thus killing any ability to play solo
1.8 killed any ability to play on my friends server
1.8 killed my ability to play completely
Feel free to offer up advice there (if you have any), if not, don't post, the QQmoar posts are ridiculous and not-needed. I seek genuine help from people that can actually help.
No reason to make a thread about it, as far as I'm concerned.
There are a lot of people who can no longer play the game because of the changes in 1.8. And Mojang should hear about it. It would be great if Mojang gave people the option to revert back to 1.7.3 if they so choose. The game is no longer playable for me and for many others. Yes, lets keep this thread going.

Thing is, if the OP had been a little more in-depth about what was happening, ie lag spikes, then I wouldn't have had to post what I posted.
I can see your point, however, and will admit to being wrong for not being more...in-depth myself.
i find it amusing when people have the propensity to blurt out what kind of hardware they run. if you're not having any problems running minecraft, no one actually cares what you run (unless you run minecraft off of some NASA grade computers). OP is the one with the problem... i personally am not having any issues running minecraft, other than the seemingly small problem of my cpu fan running and higher than normal speeds. so it's pretty apparent especially in mine and OP's case that 1.8 takes up a lot more resources.
but yeah, my friend's laptop has trouble running minecraft (since he got it) but his laptop doesn't have an integrated GPU. it's actually a fairly beast computer as he runs WoW on full settings with no problems.

Actually, My issues were directed in the proper thread, "support"... but it appears the only "helpers" that post there are the ones that tell you the normal things like "delete the .bin folder and redownload a fresh copy", "force update", etc, etc, etc... as if I haven't already tried the top 100 FAQ solutions.

Ah, well, looks like I'm the asshole here. Sorry about that, I should've looked around more.
Well lets go through the troubleshooting steps. Is it laggy in both creative and survival? If so can we surmount it to a particular occurance or procedure in the game? What I mean by this is that it lags while saving or near water, or while generating/loading new land.
The key thing to look at is the debug mode or f3. Open it up and walk around. Does the red bar fill up the screen?
On the F3 screen look at data values such as Chunk updates. How many chunks seem to update at one time and does it correspond to the lag spikes? If not is your processing power hitting 100% when it spikes? Make sure you have that performance window open.
Another value you should be looking at is the P value. The P number represents particles. The higher the number the more strain is put on your RAM.

The game doesn't allow me to stay on it long enough to hit F3, it crashes almost immediately now, leaving me a text based file on the error on my desktop. check the link in my original post, I posted those errors there.
Well then you'll have to try to figure out whether it's a memory issue. Does your processor max out when it crashes? If you have it open/viewable somewhere while you open it you can see how much memory is being handled.
You should also keep in check programs that you may have running in the background. Fraps is known to crash my Minecraft with an exception access violation. I would recommend turning off non important programs and try to run it. Of course your java may not be updated. Make sure you do that.

My system worked great before the changes. So, no, the issue is not about hardware or drivers.

so it's not always a hardware problem.

No worries, I know that when people get frustrated (on both spectrums), harsh things can be said.
I apologize if I came off as a bit brash, just wish MC would work again, or find solutions so i could get it to work again.
