Curse has just been a load of rubbish. This may be just my opinion but I've had to remake an account, other one won't work!!! And only a month and the site has crashed twice (Or once but it still was a long time). Now i love mc forums and i post a lot but when you cant even get on sometimes now is just annoying!
I also had to remake my account since my old account won't work. What's the deal?
I would have to say that I really haven't seen much of an improvement since we went onto Curse. Curse still doesn't seem to acknowledge our existence on their website, their network keeps crashing, the move to the new software was painful, and before Curse I NEVER saw any error pages about backend servers reaching capacity.
PS. If you are going to put "Featured Videos" at the bottom of the page, can 90% of them be related to Minecraft, as opposed to 50% WoW, 45% other, and 5% Minecraft.
PPS. I almost thought that it would be nice for the Curse Client to support Minecraft, but I think that I would rather trust some random modder from the forums for that kind of addon manager.
PPPS. And honestly, what kind of computer software relies on a certain brand of processor? We're talking about PC games here, not console games.

I haven't hard much of a problem with Curse. Curse host thousands of forums. Everyday hundreds of thousands new members join. Trying to keep up with that can be difficult especially when some forums have threads or posts updated every second by members. The reason why their servers are reaching capacity is the amount of traffic flowing through their network every so often. This can cause the flow to have bad or missing packets known as "Lag". When those packets appear, it clogs up the network causing it to make the network reach its capacity. Not only will this rise a problem but people who keep trying to hit the "Post" button 3 or 4 times when its loading can cause the network to have a "Buffer Overflow". Its like a hose. You let some out then you kink it so it builds up (directing towards the user hitting the post button repeatedly) Then when it finally does load it shows up as the user posting 4 post (or more) in one sec. (its like then releasing the hose and a giant burst of water comes out) When this happens repeatedly the server will be so overloaded that it will not be able to handle all those packets at once and it then will crash.
I couldn't log in for hours with the new upgrade either.
And it's just really slow in general. And I really don't like the upgrades we've been getting. I want to go back to the phbb. Or whatever it was. It's been too long.

I'd rather have a slightly slow forum then a forum with no search functions....
Huh, never heard about Curse.
But it looks awesome and is probably great to get some more traffic over here.
Me too, this is the first time I have ever heard about Curse. Anyways I looked further into what Curse is, and let me just say that they seem great and reliable to join with, so I'm happy the forums did make this move to join Curse.
Curse is a gaming network designed to bring gamers and the games they love together in a whole new way. Curse is one of the largest gaming networks in the world,
and we're extremely excited to now be a part of that.
Being part of the curse network will now give us more room to grow the sites, and not be limited by hardware or funding restrictions. We'll also be able to provide giveaways and promotions for the community!
