Well the way I see it there are 2 options for each recorder, record separately, or record in a group and work together to get as much covered as possible. At the end there are a lot more options, such as compiling all of the recorders' videos together to make one giant video or series of videos, or to have each recorder edit and upload their videos separately. Again, I am good with either.
At some point we should probably get this definite.
I would rather have a set spawn, stays true to the game and you won't accidentally spawn on someones base
Then, you have the problem, should spawn be protected?
PS: I'm only really asking because I had to do a complete server remake because for some unknown reason everything decided to act like it was in the far lands.
How big is the protected area going to be? Can i suggest small
Needs to be large enough and open enough that two people cannot reliably spawn camp the area around it. 5x5 is probably a good minimum, I might go for a 10x10 area just for safety's sake.

The map has limited space as it is without making more of it indestructible. Smaller is better.

Make it too small, and you can just stand at the edge of the spawn point and kill someone endlessly as soon as they walk into the unprotected area. There needs to be some kind of defense against that, and the easiest method is simply to make the spawn larger, so that there are more vectors to leave it.

He said there would be like 5 different fixed spawn points. So spawn camping will be less likely. And since there are so many protected areas, smaller will be better.
Also, I hope that the protection only applies to the first layer or two, and not all the way down to bedrock.

If there are multiple spawn points, then a large spawn area is unnecessary. In that case I agree with you that they should be small.
And yes, the protected area should be like 5 blocks tall at max, and include the ground under the spawn.
Also, Admins should watch these spawn locations and make sure no one tries to encase them in obsidian or something unfair.
I don't know if you guys have settled this already but as far as filming goes, I suggest that one team of observers (alternating) goes around filming things documentary style, while one or two members of each faction films, and at the end it is all compiled together. Each episode would be one or two sessions.
Also, earlier you were discussing villagers, and I believe you should leave them in. Yes, it gives people a huge advantage, but think about it this way. VIllages would become warzones as people either try to protect or destroy villagers, as well as the precious resources in them. Lots of wood things from planks to bookshelves, as well as glass if you have silk touch, and a bit of lava. It would be interesting to see what people do with the villages, and how long the villagers would last. Just an idea.

Perhaps we can do another server after this one is complete where there is a village, but for the first run I want to just see how it goes with the basic conditions of the original story.

Yeah, you're right. The experiment should be basic for now, then start testing different things later.

That was interesting, a very good read.
What's our choice? random vs the same spot?
Basically. If you want to randomly spawn over the area, or have a set spawn.

Yep.
Also, the spawns have been decided to be fixed in a protected area.
300x300 and 250x250 on saturday for testing.
He meant how big is the protected area around spawn. I also think it should be as small as possible. Perhaps 2x2.

That violates the unsaid law of being a douche.
