Define Roleplay: Assuming a role or character and acting in a manner that fits that character and environment. Role playing can be used to define actors in a play or movie, or a person playing a video game even if the game isn't necessarily a RPG, the player is still assuming the role of the character in the game and playing according to the rules set.
What is Meta-gaming?: Meta-gaming is using information out of character knowledge to aid the in game character. For example my fictional character of Ash in a pokemon game would not know where mewtwo hid, but I went straight to where Mewtwo was, because out of character I knew where he was.
What is Power-gaming?: In a roleplaying sense it's acting in a way that gives other people you are interacting no chance to retaliate or have a choice in your actions. bounding someone and throwing them into a truck would be an example, assuming that I made no checks or attempts to do it, I just did it.
Who can use flymod?: No one.

Character Name: Erick
Character Race: Human
Character Class: Woodsman
Character Role (out of the set roles):Farmer
Character Biography (should be at least 250 words): Erick's Mother died shortly after his birth, leaving him to grow up under the care of his Father, who Erick never connected with. His Father grew withdrawn and collected when his Wife died. While he did provide food and shelter for Erick, He never interacted much with his son. Erick grew up fairly isolated. His farming village was small, and most of the other villagers never bothered with pleasantries. The village was a mostly unknown outpost near the Orc border, supplying wheat to larger Human settlements and the occasional orc trader. At the age of 10 his father started to teach him the ways of the Axe and Hoe. Grateful for even the slightest bit of interaction with his father and the strong urge to make him proud of his work, he became a very skilled Logger and Farmer. Whenever the town needed wood, he was the first into the bordering forest collecting lumber for the town. By the age of 16 Erick was strong and built well. His years of logging and helping the village build new homes had given him a natural toughness. He also knew how to tend to all the plants of his area quite well. Trees grew healthy, certain to provide the best lumber when they reached maturity. His wheat grew fast and Tall, providing an abundance when other towns had trouble meeting their needs in years of drought.
Despite the lack of close friends or deep interaction in the town, Erick grew up well. He knew how to speak to the merchants coming into town to buy or trade. Erick never had trouble speaking to people, and was more friendly than the rest of his town. He had a natural sense of confidence and knew what he believed and knew what he wanted in life. He wanted to explore the world and create his own town, see it rise from the earth. However he also knew he couldn't leave his current town, the people relied on him even if they never said so.
At the age of 18 his life was the same. The village had stayed about the same size, only growing by 2 people in the course of 5 years. He enjoyed working with plants and lumber alike. His father grew more withdrawn in age. And Erick expected this life to continue for a long time. However, his fate turned instantly in a night. Dwarfs found rich Iron deposits deeper underground near the village, enticed by the new deposits they tunneled towards it. When the orcs found out the tunnels were so close to their territory a panic swelled into the orcish area and they mobilized a militia force to destroy the tunnels underneath. The orc Militia force arrived in the tunnels underneath the village and started to threaten to slaughter the dwarf miners unless they immediately retreated and sealed off the tunnels.
The Dwarven miners however, not set on letting the orcs claim the tunnels brought in demolition experts. They blew out the mines causing a massive cave in throughout the entire mine system. The orc militia died instantly, and the the mines were so large that the cave in caused the village above to buckle and sink into the earth, gaping holes ripped the farms and homes apart. Many people in the town died instantly. Erick himself was out collecting lumber when he hear the explosion. Dropping his axe he ran out to the town to see mini ravines now criss-crossing across the village. Erick quickly ran and tried to gather as many survivors as he could, only 3 had made it through the blast, none being his Father. He lead the survivors to the nearest settlement that had a doctor, which fortunately wasn't far. Erick spent two years in the town that he brought the survivors to. In that time he learned of what happened to his village and grew a deep distrust of all dwarven kind, though he never did outwardly show it too much, and he looked down upon the orcs as brutes for how they handled the situation. He got word that the land quickly recovered and most of his town was now nothing more than exposed cliffs and dirt. The survivors adjusted to the new town, however Erick had nothing to do, the town had plenty of workers. So near the end of his second year he left and made his way to the Human Capital to see what wonders the world had. He had nothing but some basic supplies and his own wit.
What are your character's ambitions: To explore and possibly start a thriving and growing town.
What are your character's strengths?: Has a strong natrual wit, good with crops and trees. He can build wooden structures and has a strong woodsman's build.
What are your character's weaknesses?: He can be overly helpful, He seeks approval from outside sources since he lacked any while growing up. He cannot trust any dwarf. He has no formal knowledge or teaching. Sometimes gets lost in thought and zones out people. He also stereotypes most orcs as brutes
What are your character's fears?: Spiders, Drowning (Avoids being in deep water), Disapproval, Is afraid of losing friends/property to war.
A guard walks up to you and tells you that you have been convicted of treason. What is your reaction?: "Treason? How do you suppose a farmer and woodsman could commit treason when I've spent most of my life supplying food and lumber to the Capital? My Village was destroyed by an Orc and Dwarf conflict, do you really think I'd help them or any other race for that matter? Take me in if you have to, but I ensure you that I will walk away with my freedom still."
As a side note, I don't actually know where all the borders are so it I need to change up the Dwarf/orc skirmish I will. But I don't think it's too far of a stretch to say the Dwarfs would mine out under a fringe human town to get ores and the resulting with the lore that was given.
Psychotimo: When I said "Not listed in the OP" I was referring to my status as Head Loremaster not being listed in the first post of this topic.
If you plan to simply have your characters claim they come from small towns, why not write that in your bios, as the "truth"?
I didn't make this topic, so I can't change the OP. We have a decent quantity of lore when it comes to magic, none of which is listed in the OP. Magic does not come from alternate dimensions in our world. You'd need to read all the Theories of Magic to really get a grip of how it works. But teleportation/dimension traveling (With the obvious exception of the Nether) does not currently exist in our world.
Your characters can be ported to our world just fine without having to have them necessarily come from the worlds in which you originally played them. I am not going to warp our lore to fit players that have not proven themselves to me. I see no reason why your characters can't play in our world without coming from an alternate dimension.
If I start twisting the lore for every new player that joins our server, the place will be a total wreck before too long. I realize it is well within my power to go "Hey guys! Players can come from other dimensions now!", but that isn't the type of world we have or want to have.
You will not be accepted if you include dimension-travelling in your bio. That's the short of it. I will debate this issue no further.
I suggest that we dont have dimension traveling dwarves that are super skilled/powerful people, honestly common sense people. Players cant start with high positions of power. We do have some high positions open for dwarves but they have to be worked for ICly.

Accepted
Raffyboy: Welcome aboard! The Dwarves can use more men like ye!
mcboom: You certainly worked hard enough for it!
oric8520: "Dredstonek"? I'm assuming that that was a spelling error. You're in, but do try to watch your capitalization and spelling.
The_Crafting_Man: Accepted, but I'd recommend changing your surname. "Magi" is a frequently used plural of "Mage" in our world. And THAT is how you have a parent die in your bio, and get accepted. Kudos.
Conzorr: Welcome! I'd recommend talking to Mullraugh or Zizra Aerys (I think I misspelled that surname) when you see them on. One's the head of the Capital Guard, the latter is the King himself.
webbawebba: Do keep in mind you'll need to get Educated IC. Welcome aboard!
Ian_mac: Usually apps involving not-mentioned events (Such as a squabble over a mine) are rejected, but you wrote yours well, and it realistically fits into our setting. /Loremaster approval. Welcome aboard!
Wow, that's a personal record for number approved in a single run. I must be in a good mood. All of you have been added to the whitelist and have had your class/race set, no need to try making a modreq to get that set (Modreq is dysfunctional right now). I hope you all enjoy the server! Don't forget to make an account at silvergaming.enjin.com!

Delief200: Incorrect powergaming definition. Numerous spelling errors. Your app is below the 250 word minimum. We do not allow "They killed my family!" backstories, as they tend to be cliche. You specifically note that you have broken this rule, and yet make no effort to remedy it. Saying you're very skilled with dagger sneak-attacks is not a weakness. You misspelled Orc. Your character is one-dimensional, completely lacking any sort of realistic personality. You may not reapply.
jMp007: Incorrect powergaming definition. Bio is less than the 250 minimum. Dwarves and Elves are on opposite sides of the continent.. The dwarf-run-in seems a little unlikely. The Elves have fought in no recent wars.
kingchar23: Frightening grammar. "making interactions that speed your progress tword a gol like not letting a player respond to something u attempted." That is horrifying. It would appear you cannot type English with the proficiency we expect on this server. If you wish to be admitted, please take some writing lessons. Oh, and if you're a Craftsman, your strengths are obviously not "Archery swords".
thobo: Bio is less than 250 words. Please don't annihilate entire villages in your bio, making yourself the only survivor. That's a bit cliche.
WarwickMarrison: Incorrect powergaming definition. "Fawkes McCloud"? "Fox McCloud"? Please choose a different name. I believe The Vora is never given a gender-pronoun. And Vorism originates on the continent of Araethon - Even if you start in an out-of-the-way town, you're still in Araethon.
Unless otherwise noted, feel free to make edits and reapply.

Character Name: Next Adraxian.
Character Race: Human
Character Class: Craftsman
Character Role (out of the set roles):
Character Biography (should be at least 250 words):
Next was born in raised outside of his family's mine. His parents loved him much, and began to teach him things like crafting and mining when he was at a young age. His skills progressed quickly, and at the age of 15 Next had already grasped the arts of crafting. Eventually he became well known in the town of Argathon, where Next lived, because of the skills his parents had passed on to him. After several years of crafting things for his parents, family, and village, Next started contemplating a new profession, this being mining. Next started mining in different areas of Argathon but was finding minimal resources. So Next traveled all over Argathon to find somewhere he could mine and find great minerals. He started in the human district and only found coal. So he continued on to the dwarven district, where he found iron, this was still not good enough for Next. So he ventured fourth to the elven district where he found redstone in multiples. Next realized he had traveled all over and had still not found diamond, but he learned all about different races. So Next tends to do well with the dwarves and elves and even orcs, if they do not try to kill him that is. Next eventually had gotten bored of his home town the same old mining and crafting he always had done, because of the lack of resources it had, so he set out to find a new beginning. Next traveled here to Araethon to craft and mine for new people, new races, and new friends.
What are your character's ambitions: To become great at crafting and mining.
What are your character's strengths?: Crafting, Mining, speech, learning.
What are your character's weaknesses?: Fighting, agility, speed.
What are your character's fears?: Open cornered areas, being alone for to long.
A guard walks up to you and tells you that you have been convicted of treason. What is your reaction?: Sir you must have the wrong man, I would never betray my friends, I will not fight you but I wish that you would check your facts, I am clearly no harm.
Those runes are actually runes from real life used by germanic tribes, saxons and the vikings as well the same viking-ish runes have been used in many fantasy settings for the dwarven alphabet (Lord of the Rings and Warhammer are an example of this)

Any particular meaning for that arrangement of runes?

RedGigs: Incorrect powergamining definition. The "Enchanted Forest" hasn't actually been proven to be magic.. and is a sizable distance from the nearest dwarven settlements, despite technically being between Orcish and Dwarven lands. There's currently two major dwarven settlements, both of which have been around longer than your character could have lived. Who would the Dwarves have "Claimed" this mountaintop mine from? They're the only ones that live in the mountains. The Dwarves are lead by a High King, not Elders. To my knowledge, the Dwarves don't have any tradition like the one you described...
Raffyboy: This is just a technicality: If you're a Warrior, you cannot craft armor/weapons, and as such cannot be a Blacksmith as your role. Dabbling in smithing may be allowed in your Bio, but you gotta choose. Fix that, and you're in.
Elanion1: Araethon houses the only dwarven nation, to anyone's knowledge. We try to avoid characters being overly-powerful to begin with ("one of the mightyest warriors in the realms around the dwarven nation,if not the mightyest"). We do allow character-ports as long as they fit our world, which sadly this one does not.
webbawebba: Incorrect powergaming definition. To my knowledge, the Elves have now mad-scientists. The Dwarves may not like the Elves, but they certainly aren't kidnapping anyone. It is a well-known fact that one cannot turn wood to diamonds with alchemy. We try to stay away from "They took/killed my family!" storylines, as they tend to be cliche.
psychotimo: Players cannot start with positions of IC power (Councilmember). In fact, the Dwarves don't really have a council. They have a High King, and that's about it for their government, currently. Proper capitalization is really appreciated on this server. Players cannot start out knowing how to read/write. Magic books are not freely handed about. As you mention, you'll need to get rid of your "Curse" as such a thing does not exist in our world. Players may not start with magic of any kind. Khaz'Ankor and West Anvil are the only Dwarven settlements in our world. You have a couple of spelling errors.
oric8520: Is your uncle's surname "Stormcloak", perhaps? (No need to change that, just making jest). Very promising app, the only thing stopping you from being accepted is the lore you create around Redstone. It is called Redstone in our world, and we have a few notable engineers. Players are not allowed to start with any expertise with Engineering, though you could hypothetically have had some exposure to it. I'd reccomend altering your app such that he's very curious about Redstone, and wishes to get proper schooling.
mcboom: We do not allow players to start knowing how to read/write.
Karl_ panther: Incorrect powergaming and metagaming definitions. Ther is no "Kingdom of Genesal". There are no such things as "Night" and "Forest" elves in our world. The Dwarves are not at war with the Elves. The Elves have fought no one anytime recently. We do not allow "They killed my parents!" backstories, as they tend to be cliche. Your character is written out to be far more powerful than we allow. "Breeding an army of killer dogs" is not a viable ambition. Woodsmen cannot use swords. "Armor he can't shoot through" is not a viable weakness. Creepers don't target dogs. Heck, I don't think we even have dogs in our world. WE DO NOT ALLOW PLAYERS TO BE RAISED BY PANTHERS. You are not allowed to reapply.
Unless otherwise noted, feel free to make edits and reapply.
To those accepted: The server is currently down, but you'll be added once it comes back (Hopefully before noon tomorrow).

Character Name: Roksanna
Character Race: Elf
Character Class:Woodsman
Character Role (out of the set roles): Traveler ((I don't know what the set roles are, sorry.))
Character Biography (should be at least 250 words): Roksanna was born into the life of Elven Colonists who created a village dangerously close to contested territory between the Orcs and the Elves. Roksanna was very curious about the world around her, though her parents never let her wander too far- worried for their daughter's safety- though she was able to hear tales of the outside world from the adults and her parents, hearing of various monsters.
As she became older, she was taught skills that would assist her as she helped the village hunt for food- such as using a bow and arrow, stealth, tracking down certain animals or creatures, and finding food or water. She often practiced some of these skills, though she wasn't the most skilled at archery, she could easily hide, the fact that she was a bit on the small side compared to the average elf being a contributing factor.
Life in the village was rather calm, though one night- an orc raid ravaged her village. In fear, she fled into the forest and hid- bow and arrows with her, as well as a small satchel of food. She climbed up a tree, and waited there- scared, and worried. She could see plumes of smoke in the distance, and waited until the smoke was gone before she was brave enough to return to town.
Once she found her way back- the town was in ruins- many buildings burnt down, and those that weren't, were missing many items, and were in shambles. She could see many corpses of both elves and orcs, and was somewhat relieved that there were signs that other elves escaped- due to not finding their corpses, but as she searched, couldn't find any sign of her parents. Eventually though, she couldn't take much more of all the carnage, and fled the scene, crying, mourning the death of those that died in the raid, worried for her parents, and saddened that the only home she knew was gone, destroyed. She had no idea where she was going- only knowing that she might find her parents at another town- if they were even alive.
What are your character's ambitions: Finding the fate of her parents- and if they are alive, seeking them out.
What are your character's strengths?: She is very stealthy, and tends to be able to track something down, as well as hide from monsters, predators, and enemies. She also is very good with a bow- and can be swift, which is an attribute many elves have.
What are your character's weaknesses?: She cannot take a hit well, nor can she deal a hit well- in close-combat. She is also a bit too quick to trust others- except for orcs, that is.
What are your character's fears?: Dying before finding out what the fate of her parents were, orcs, and creepers. Creepers have given her quite a few close calls, indeed.
A guard walks up to you and tells you that you have been convicted of treason. What is your reaction?:

I just want to make a statement here.
1. For my application, You said it was a 'rule' to not have cliche back stories. I just checked your website and forum post and find no rule saying I cannot do this.
2. When I said in my application that I was aware you do not agree with cliche story backgrounds I was simply acknowledging this fact. My backstory is mine to plan.
3. Any spelling errors made are not my fault but the fault of the 'Pages' application for iPad as this is what I used to type up my application.
4. I would like to ask you to clarify why I cannot re-apply with a new character when you have allowed others too. I find this a touch unfair.

Character Name: Durlam Firehammer
Character Race: dwarf
Character Class: Craftsmen
Character Role (out of the set roles): Blacksmith - If not, Cook
Character Biography (should be at least 250 words): Durlam's parents lived in Kaz Ankor all their lives. Durlam was from a great and prosperous family of dwarves, the Firehammers. For hundreds of years they had existed with plenty of money. However, the family fell upon hard times and Durlam was born while the last reserves of money had been extinguished and the last heirlooms sold on the streets. His mother died in the process of giving birth. He was an only child. Durlam lived the first 11 years of his life in the happiness and glory of the dwarven capitol. However, with the Firehammer's wealth gone forever, Durlam was taken by his father to live in the countryside and run a farm where the family could scrape a living. Durlam was only 19 when it happened. Massive spiders bigger than a fully grown man attacked the house. Because his father was bigger, they carried him away first. Durlam groped for an axe, a sword, anything to fight with, and his hand rested on a pickaxe. He swung it ferociously at the arachnids but to no avail. His father had been taken away and Durlam had no one. All his family were gone. He was the last of the Firehammer and didn't know what to do. With his farm failing, he left for the closest settlement he could find. It was a human wagon train that was traveling to Westfall Hold. Though the humans did not like the dwarf's company, they still took him along. When they reached Westfall Hold, it was all the dwarf could do to earn some coin. He began as a courier, and worked tirelessly until he had enough money to buy a very small shop. This was what he did best: He sold small trinkets such as rings and toys and necklaces and such, which he made himself. All the time he worked to earn a living, he plotted the day he would find the spiders and kill them and save his father. Once he had finally made enough, he made himself armor, weapons and food (his nanny had taught him how to make most foods when he was a child and he was surprisingly good at it) and left Westfall Hold at 23. He looked a long time for his father. Finally, he found the spiders living in a cave far from where his farm had been. Durlam Firehammer found a burning anger in him and unleashed it. He was mighty that day, but there were too many spiders. he did not save his father and barely made it out alive. He returned to his ladder of business and managed to get a small shop in West Anvil by 35. All the while he thought of setting up a shop in Kaz Ankor and restoring the Firehammer house to its former power, and of returning once more to the spider cave and saving his father and repaying the fiends for all the pain and hurt they had caused him.
What are your character's ambitions: Durlam's ultimate goal is to set up a prosperous business in Kaz Ankor, the heart of the dwarven spirit.
What are your character's strengths?: For a dwarf, Durlam Firehammer is surprisingly delicate with his fingers. He relishes in the company of friends and family. He has very good eyesight, and can often find flaws in jewels and artifacts where others see nothing. He is relatively well-tempered. He can make food surprisingly well and fast.
What are your character's weaknesses?: Sadly, Durlam's top priority is a good tankard of ale, or wine when he can get it. He is somewhat of a thief if left alone in a room long enough, and not a very good one.
What are your character's fears?: Durlam fears spiders more than everything else in the world combined.
A guard walks up to you and tells you that you have been convicted of treason. What is your reaction?: Firstly, I would stand firmly and ask the reason for such an accusation. If the reason the guard then provides is correct, I would unhappily hand myself over, knowing I had broken the law and deserved punishment. If the guard only insists that I come, I would stay planted and refuse to move until provided with an answer. If the accusation the guard gave was false, I would protest calmly and demand to see a higher-ranking official before submitting myself. If the guard decides to attack me, a dwarf can always act in self defence, can't he...?

I will debate this issue no further.

mcboom: You certainly worked hard enough for it!
oric8520: "Dredstonek"?
Rejected
May I suggest just copy-pasting it, instead of quoting?
That may be okay, if the High King approves.
Which it seems he does not.
Thank you!

Those runes are actually runes from real life used by germanic tribes, saxons and the vikings as well the same viking-ish runes have been used in many fantasy settings for the dwarven alphabet (Lord of the Rings and Warhammer are an example of this)
Any particular meaning for that arrangement of runes?
yup but I'm not giving it away that easy

Thank you
