After being with with Max's MC Servers for almost a month it is 100% time for a move. Biggest issue and prompt for this thread is terrible CPU bottle-necking from too many mc servers on the same node. Just a little background so you know what I am looking to avoid.
Here is what I would like to see from a host for 30-40 players:
-FTP file access.
-A way to control the server. Doesn't have to be multicraft, as long as there is something with Tekkit support and I can set up scheduled commands.
-The ability to create and access my own mySQL database.
- US based (East coast preferably)
->=99% uptime
->=100Mbit Internet
-Dedicated IP (with default minecraft port, of course)
- 3GB RAM (Possible 4)
-PROOF that your CPUs are powerful enough and not over sold. Just show me the numbers (or screenshot) of the exact specs on the physical server I will be put on, along with how many others will be on it with me (VPS preferably).
-Several day return policy.
**Bonus features that would really make me happy**
-You have chunkster or a similar tool available for corrupt worlds.
-You can move my existing server from my current host over FTP to your host. (1st move only. It is getting rather large and I have poor internet. It would literally save me 6 hours if I do not have to download and re upload from my machine).
If you meet these requirements, please post with the cost. Whoever can meet these with the best price, wins!
I'm an Electrical Engineer by trade, and I know a few things about servers. Please help me find a good, dependable host!
We can offer you a 3GB server for only $29.95 per month!
The CPU we currently have is an Intel Core i7 3770 and we only have 3 servers on this node at the moment, as we just ordered a new one. We only put a maximum of 15 people at a time onto a node to ensure the CPU will not get overloaded. If you would like more information or to order, please email me at [email protected] and I can provide you with more information.
At VortexUnit, we're all about high performance hosting at a budget price. Here is the information you requested:
We ONLY run enterprise hardware on our nodes, which feature Dual Opteron 2356 (2 x 8 cores) and WD RE4 Harddrives. Our hardware is connected via 100mb/s private uplinks. Yes, our uplinks are NOT shared with other people. We own ALL the hardware. We guarantee:
>99.999% Network Uptime
99% Hardware Uptime
Servers are located in San Jose, California.
All of our plans include a free dedicated IP. Currently, we average about 30 people per node, and the pictures about are servers that are about 85% full. ALL of our servers are located in VPS containers, and you will have full root access + SolusVM.
We'll be happy to offer you credits or refund you if we don't meet our SLA (24 hour support responses and updates, + hardware uptime above).
We have tons of extra features, such as free webhosting, free mumble, and free MySQL databases.
We utilize the SpaceBukkit panel, which is the BEST (Hands down) Minecraft panel out there. We're currently updating our system to the newest addition that supports Tekkit, but we'll set you up right away if you decide to go with us. Here's a demo of the panel:
We'll be more than happy to move your files from Max's for you.
As far as pricing, I can get you a custom quote based on your needs. (Did I mention that we donate 10% of our profits to charity?) Simply PM me and we can work something out. We can also talk via Skype:
We only run out servers to a maximum of 50% CPU usage. This allows unbeatable pliability with affordable prices! Please keep in mind that you will only be able to run 1 core CPU with any host, as Minecraft is single-threaded.
We charge $39.96 for a 3GB server. We have a 1Gbps connection speed. You get full FTP access and free MySQL databases. The server is based in Phoenix, Arizona. We use Multicraft as our control panel. We have 100% uptime and a 7 day money back policy. We have live chat and phone support. We have lightning fast ticket support as well. We have a chunkster tool to help you with corrupt worlds. Just show me the numbers (or screenshot) of the exact specs on the physical server I will be put on, along with how many others will be on it with me (VPS preferably). You will be put on a Xeon E3-1270v2 Server. Following graphs are from SolusVM:
-Several day return policy. In most cases we do not do refunds, however you can have a 24 hour free trial, just contact us at [email protected], or on our website
**Bonus features that would really make me happy**

It would literally save me 6 hours if I do not have to download and re upload from my machine). We can move it for you, or you can SSH into your server, and just use a command line FTP client to transfer the files directly from server to server.
If the above 4GB package does not suit you, feel free to contact us for a custom package, or if you have any more questions
We can certainly do this for you. We offer Multicraft and McMyAdmin in several locations. McMyAdmin comes installed on our Xen VPSs, so you have full root access to transfer your files over directly.

Hi,
Please consider Exodus Hosting! We offer everything you requested, and our servers run Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 or 1270 V2 CPUs, and we have a complete monitoring back-end that notifies us if and when a server's load is extremely high so we can fix it. Generally, this happens by an inexperienced server owner breaking his plugins. While we don't do VPS hosting, we do use Multicraft in your choice of Dallas or Phoenix(if both are available when you order.) In addition, we offer automatic Tekkit installation, and automatic plugin installation features on our panel. If you need load average proof, you can contact me via PM. In addition, we can always move you to a different node or location if you find your current server is not satisfactory. As for the move from Max's, we will probably be able to assist with that, but I cannot guarantee it because we generally don't use the systems of other hosts. I'll post some more info about our service below.
Thanks!

@SimpleNode Very good answering to my post, however no return policy would be a deal breaker. I've been let down by 2 hosts now, I'm going to need an escape route if need be.
@bobsnox Need more info.
@Exodus_Ben Interesting,you are certainly and option.
I'm just going to comment here as to how the graphs are totally ridiculous.
CPUs cost a huge amount of money, What does a cpu do ? It does work.
So what is the point in spending hundreds of dollars to purchase something that is only going to be used 20% ? There isn't, its poor business and its not very ecological either.
And what is the point for a graph at a certain amount of time when more customers will come along and add extra load to the box ? None.
I also see a speedtest, the speed doesn't matter a bit, its the quality, jitter, latency etc that matters, not the volume of traffic.
If you are an official rep, then I know Clanslots is out.
Hosts need to be responsible enough to utilize their hardware, but not over-utilize it. Knowing what a host's target load or number of servers per given hardware spec is a huge help. It at least proves they know what is going on. Not "lets put moar servers here until it gets complaints!"
Lets take an example, If you have a server with a load of 1, it effectively means you have 3 cpu cores that are being wasted.
So this means if you have 9 servers in this situation, 6 of those servers are totally unused, how is this a good thing ?
And we were out from the start, We don't serve your demographic (USA) however clanslots servers dynamically move game servers from machine to machine for the best load accross all our machines, our system also automatically moves and turns servers off and on depending on load to save electricity.
I was just pointing out how this is a very wrong metric, if you want to ask, ask how many servers they have, how many customers, how many customers per server, and the load of their most loaded machine (but this is easy to fake)
Total load percentage, not number of CPUs used. There is a fundamental difference. I.E. if a host sees they are 98% loaded at peak times on an AMD middle of the line server, they aren't going to try to put another 40 slot mc server on it. I think you are the only one here confused...

I agree with the above statement, if you're going for the best price anyone can post fake information on here and get you as a customer.
I suggest you check out the approved section and chat with a few companies there who might fill your needs.

Which is why a refund is required. I am doing my own searching as well. Which makes your post pointless. Which wasted my time replying to it.
This isn't a discussion thread. If you are a host or can recommend a host I would love to hear from you! Otherwise please voice your opinions in a more appropriate topic. Those hosts who made an educated and polite post here I will at least look into. Which is a win-win for us both.
