Hey guys at CraftYourBox, I got a quick but important question for you.
I currently run my server with *cough* Avante Hosting *cough* and I want to move. I have a server with about 9 worlds (that I'm planning to merge, because it does take a lot of ram and processor power), and I have about 60 plugins installed.
How much RAM would I need to handle about 50 players? Help would be great! Also, how much cores do we get with a server, and what are your server specs?
Thanks for responding!
May I ask what your budget is, We sell dedicated servers, you may be better off with one of those.
So Im an army vet. How do I prove that I served? Looking at your packages and just wanted something simple for friends and family that toy around with MC. How are the mod installs? guess I should look more at the website, lol

Hey,
Submit a support ticket with proof of ID and we will get you a discount. And I believe you mean plugins? Just select bukkit for the server type and then login to the server via the control panel ftp and upload your plugins to the plugin directory!
As of using this service for a week, I cannot say I 100% recommend it. Most of the time, there is little lag and all is fine. However, it is beginning to constantly lag me out. I'm in America - in fact I'm just a couple states away from where these servers are hosted. Although, I'm still having latency issues.
A lot of times, the ping response time is decent, but it doesn't respond but 50% of the time.

It's not. I was playing with two other people and they were complaining about terrible lag. Lag to the point where you have to stand on a pressure plate for a few seconds just to get the door to their house open.
This host is cheap, but not quality. I also find it very sad that CraftYourBox didn't provide any support, not even reply to my post.
Guys - friendly warning: This host lags a LOT. It's not on my site or any of my friends side either.

Hey I have a few questions. Do you suspend servers that use a lot of CPU or RAM? For example if the CPU and RAM usage is always hanging at 100%.
Do you offer free MySQL database?
Are we able to upload a custom Jar file and customize player slots? Do we have to send in a support ticket to customize or can we do it manually?

Hey Harry,
If we believe that the server is using up too much of the resources on the node we will either suspend it(which we haven't ever had to do), or move it to a new node which has more free resources. Yes we do offer free MySQL databases, you can create your own through Multicraft. You can upload your own jar, you just have to send in a support ticket so we can set multicraft to read your custom .jar(s). As far as player slots go, they are at a set amount, however if you buy a server that is 1gb or above we will gladly allow you to set your own amount of slots. Hope I was able to help you out with your questions. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Okay, but I happen to use too much CPU, will you guys help me figure out the problem or give me pointers? Because on another host they just terminated my service..
Okay, but I happen to use too much CPU, will you guys help me figure out the problem or give me pointers? Because on another host they just terminated my service..
Well we definitely won't just terminate your service. We will try our best to help solve your problem if it occurs. However 100% CPU is usually the case of overselling on a dedicated node, or even a weak processor, it generally isn't caused by a single server.
When I continue to checkout, I can optionally add a plugin support to my cart. If I don't do it, does that mean I can't use plugins on my server or just that I don't get any help with it?
Plugin support is pretty much for the people who know absolutely nothing about plugins, yet they want to run a bukkit server with plugins. So we help you set them up, configure them, etc. If you are having plugin problems we will help you fix them. However if you don't buy the package, pretty much all we can do is tell you how to fix a plugin error, but we won't do it for you. This is how we keep our prices so cheap, by only having people pay for support if they really need it.
Hi, me and my friend are thinking about purchasing your service, but we were wondering if we started with a smaller plan, if we could later just upgrade our service, keeping the same IP? Is that possible?

Hey,
Yes that would be possible. All that happens when you upgrade is you receive extra memory and a higher player count. Everything else stays the same.
I've been using CYB for a long time, even before I got to know them better. I was never disappointed because their uptime was exactly what they said it was, 99.999999999999%! There is very little lag and when there is, it's mostly because of a member using redstone contraptions everywhere, so it's on our end. The prices are very cheap compared to any other server hoster, their staff is quick and efficient on the support department too! I'd recommend CraftYourBox to anyone who wants to own a server, truly!

Hey Matt,
Thank you for the great review, it is much appreciated! We try our best to keep our customers satisfied.
We have now added the Dev bukkit 1.3 R.01!! Select "Mod: Craftbukkit Dev" for jar type in multicraft to access it.
Of course! Email me at [email protected]
Looking forward hearing from you!

they are extremely cheap for the quality they provide!

Hey,
Submit a support ticket with proof of ID and we will get you a discount. And I believe you mean plugins? Just select bukkit for the server type and then login to the server via the control panel ftp and upload your plugins to the plugin directory!

So yeah, I'll be looking for a new host now.
Maybe its on your end, This host is ****ing amazing
Thanks for the nice comment
We always like constructive feedback.

We have just received our latest order of US ram. We now have 54GB available for instant setup

Hey,
Yes that would be possible. All that happens when you upgrade is you receive extra memory and a higher player count. Everything else stays the same.

Hey Matt,
Thank you for the great review, it is much appreciated! We try our best to keep our customers satisfied.
We have now added the Dev bukkit 1.3 R.01!! Select "Mod: Craftbukkit Dev" for jar type in multicraft to access it.
