So pretty much what my situation is is that I recently hooked up my 25" HDTV to my computer and is now my monitor. I make Youtube videos and generally are in 1280x720, but when I tried changing my desktop resolution to 1280x720, it would not let me, stating that the TV does not support the format/refresh rate. If there's any possible way to get around this, it would be much appreciated.

Like it says, your display probably doesn't support that resolution - check the manual that came with the TV for a list of supported resolutions. Why do you need your desktop to be that res anyway? If you need to record at that res just run the game in windowed mode and set the resolution in the game's settings.
You know, that's just crazy enough to work. I'd prefer fullscreen though.
Also note if it is a cheap/crappy "HD" TV, the resolution will not actually be HD, but widescreen 480p or so.
I don't think that card supports what you are attempting to do.
It was 200 dollars, lol. It IS HD, and that's a fact, because it can play HD television channels. And the card can, in fact, support 1280x720 because I was able to switch to it on my old 1280x1024 (obviously it wasn't widescreen) monitor.

Again, HD does not always mean HD. HD TV will scale down to whatever resolution the TV is at.
What I mean by "the card doesn't support it" is the card probably does not support the kind of input you are using for the TV.
Where are you changing this from?
The control panel.
Do you happen to know what your graphics card is?

It's a ATI Radeon x300, I believe. (Old, I know)

1024X768 is the highest it supports. Which again, is 720p. I guess many think 720p auto means 1280X720p.
