Ok debate. Buying a MAC for gaming is stupid.
A windows based machine can get far better hardware for less money, and get a lot of games extra.
Yes you have Steam on a MAC, but steam does not have all the games.
MAC was designed for multimedia purposes before PC's could do that. A PC can do far more than a MAC nowadays can.
We can also debate stability. A MAC = Intel. MAC used to have the superior Motorola platform, but switched to IBM compatible, so they are no longer special, just really overpriced IBM compatible machines with fancy designs, and extra expensive.
Then just buy a PC, and install OSx and any of the newer releases on it. It'll still be a MAC OS machine, but not made by Apple. And 25% of the price for the same power.
I'll buy a PC as soon as they give me the same specs as the iMac in the same thing (all-in-one computer with the same specs, with a nice metal enclosure).

There, find me a PC that can do THAT.
so you are spending an xtra $800 on the shiny case then? doesn't that seem a little childish?

Both are laptops I found on a nz website, both under 1.8k. Both have dedicated graphics cards, I7 2630qm laptops with 4gb ram each. Both should run minecraft just fine, plus they are cheaper an better than the MacBook you suggested.
As for which one, the hp has the slight edge with the larger screen, better hdd and and (what seems like) a better gpu.
i dont know what is better!!!!! and i hate doing research because google aways comes up with rong stuff.
If you have plenty of space don't get that all in one if you want a desktop get a tower there cheaper and faster.
if you want a laptop is performance matter more or does battery life.
But if you just want it for minecraft more mobile because that top one gets pathetic battery. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230106
Alot cheaper then macbook will handle minecraft just fine and almost half the weight of the top one.
by lag i mean low fps and i sorta want a laptop but it will hardly move and preformance maters i just play it with the charger on i used to do that with old one that no longer works it was crap from the begining.
do you think it will have any lag and fast loading with top grapics like the farest fog etc.
And burn your house down.
Or alternatively, you could get a PC for that price and run it without any lag at all.
burn my house down right well i just remebered that for another $1,000 i can get a custom pc.
Oh, and with $2,000 NZD, you can get a custom PC that'll run Minecraft. EASY.
Trust me, I live in New Zealand too. :wink.gif:
I agree
Mac = Business/Multimedia
PC = Gaming/More Freedom
very poorly.
On another note, does anyone know how the integrated graphics in said laptop compare to the old X1600 (128MB)?

Ill just leave this here

Its cheaper and has a bigger screen with comparable components
will it have lag i always ask this but nothing pisses me off more than lag.
i dont know what is better!!!!! and i hate doing research because google aways comes up with rong stuff.
By lag do you mean low frame-rates or do you mean lag?
If you mean low frame rates then your answer is no.
If you mean lag then check your internet connection, the server you are playing on, and the server you are playing on's internet connection.
