My laptop doesn't seem dusty yet but if it does someday I want the right stuff to get the dust out....I keep hearing people say that if you use compressed air on the dusty vents that the laptop has it will push all of the dusts in your laptop system and cause problems to your laptop...Can anyone verify if this is true or not? The extra questions is would anybody recommend me to vacuum my laptop (on the dusty vents?)
Question: you are statically charged and touch the fan in a desktop (or any other peace of plastic), what happens?
Answer:
nothing
It may not be as efficient as a lot of other things, like disassembling the laptop and actually cleaning it, you will also need to (somewhat) use it in bursts like cans of compressed air, anything like static electricity however will not be a problem.
Lol, note the word MIGHT. and static electricity WILL build up. Go educate yourself.
Using a vacuum cleaner is as likely to build up a charge as blowing on a fan.
The statement that static electricity might fry something is true yes, it is however unrelated as it won't build up in the first place.

Besides grounding the vacuum shouldn't exactly be a problem as modern peripheral should already be grounded.
I can't even tell if the replies to this thread are supposed to even be halfway serious.
Using compressed air is usually bad because it will just blow the air off of your fan housing/blades deeper into the laptop, probably landing on the boards and such, that likely would help your fan still but it might mess up the airflow, and theres a possibility it might just end up getting its way back onto the fan anyway due to the blowing action.
A vacuum cleaner is never going to do anything, seriously you can try if you want but I can guarentee you that unless its a handheld vacuum with a brush tip or something the dust is just going to sit there and not move, its not even related to grounding, dust does not just fly off of things when you vacuum it, in fact thats why you need such a strong burst of air to dislodge it, it tends to stick to whatever it falls on and the suction from a vacuum is really weak.
Solution? Either take the laptop apart and blow everything out from the inside or if you somehow have access to the fan blades you could use a damp qtip and run it along the blades to capture the dust, in my case that wasn't possible anyway since I had to take the laptop I had apart in order to get to the cpu fan.

I can see my fans below my laptop should I open it up and vacuum it or blow it with something or should I just vacuum the vents from below and besides nothing 100 percent free of dust :/
As for weither it would ruin a laptop, That would depend on it's build quality.

My vents are at the bottom of my laptop and it seems to suck air in which should be normal and do you suggest that I vacuum the vents?
Well nobody here knows exactly. You could try it.
Is your vacumm powerfull?
Just be sure to remove the head that is designed for the floor.

Just have to love it when someone changes the specs when comparing with and without optifine..
