I had no doubt that Intel was going to launch Ivy Bridge in April. All the boards have already been reviewed, reviewers have the chips. Intel could officially launch Ivy Bridge any day now. I'm sticking with my 2500K but it's still very exiting to see the next generation chips arrive.

The ivy bridges are not really the next gen. They are a die shrink. Nothing new, except for power consumption and stuff.
They are the tick tock thingy.

Linus does work for NCIX, that's why he does all the videos for the NCIXcom channel.
Also, as I said, these are samples. Engineering samples. Intel does this with every new CPU. They never give out an actual retail CPU, they give out engineering samples.

You wouldn't put a sample into a test bench would you?

He means they didn't send him a retail package with the cooler and other documents in it, he just got the cpu.
So Intel sends out OEMs to be reviewed?

I'm guessing that's it.

It was a greenish picture of a processor or something like that.

It is probably an engineering sample, not the actual thing. The CPUs won't be released until June
Intel has had the CPU finished for some time now that's how so many review sites got them already.
The notebook CPU's wont be.
The desktops will come out late april.
He works at an Intel facility so he must of gotten it early to test with the new motherboards.
Coming out "Soon" (April 29th)
Intel would not give CPU out early to a lowly factory worker.
Intel sent out some samples to reviewers to build up hype.
Linus works for NCIX I believe.

change your avatar NOW, also you may as well buy OEM CPUs if your going to overclock, spend the savings on a cooler
