Hey
I have a hp pavilion dv6-6173cl
It has 8GB RAM @1333MHZ blah blah blah
Cpu: i7 2630QM @ 2.2GHZ
GPU (i want a better one):ATI Radeon 6770M
My questions are
Where do I find a laptop ATI Radeon 6870m or 850m
Any videos on how to do it?
And can my laptop's power supply run it?

Most laptops can't upgrade.. and rarely to you find ability to upgrade CPU/Video card...
Also the video card is built on to the board most likely..
HP laptops as I remember.. you can't upgrade anything even the ram since your at the limit alrdy..
So you have better luck with getting a new computer

Well mostly every laptop I have never seen one that you could.. but the GPU is Built in to the board.. if you wanna remove it then you might damage your board in the process and not have a computer anymore..
The CPU can be changed.. but on rare occasions as far as I know.. HP computers can't get much upgraded besides maybe the RAM. but I believe your at the limit of ram the board can hold

not a bad one theres plenty with 560m that are near the $1,200 mark, just avoid aliennware >.> Sager might be a good choice as well for laptops and the prices are pretty good

also this, laptops are great for light gaming on the go, but you do pay a good premium for it as well, desktops always will be better for gaming
Yea I know that laptops aren't the best for gaming
Lol I know alienware isn't good (overpriced), but why not alienware? Need good details
My friend wants alienware I told him they suck, but he wouldn't listen

Alienware really isn't that bad.. the computers are pretty good actually.. used one before..
but Self built computers are some of the best ways.. and the cheapest

mostly the price and the cooling, if the cooling were better and the yshave a good $150 atleast off the basic price they would be good, there has been many instances of the casing actually melting due to the heat, and the customer support is more miss then hit with dell, now if your talking the pre-dell alienware they were great, good prices and quality, dell takes over quality takes a dump :sad.gif:

yeah, but it's reallllly difficult to do for a laptop, not impossible but finding the parts / shell / screen is a pain, and
i agree, they are good, but the problem is the horrible cooling and the extravagant overpricing on it

LOL I never meant building a laptop.. thats just a waste.. I meant self built Desktop :tongue.gif:

Yea Desktops are WAY easier than laptops when it comes to building.
Laptops, one little mistake and you have to restart.

Alienware is terrible. They buy the cheapest, least durable parts they can get their hands on, they use plastic cases, they have fans that run at train level sounds, they overheat and melt, they cost 1,000$ to overclock, which will eventually melt the case anyways, AND overcharge over 200% in some cases (no pun intended)

I suggest not getting a laptop for gaming anything decent will cost in excess of a 1,000 dollars.
