I just purchased a Sapphire Radeon 6870, works perfect with MW3, etc, but I can't get it to run with Minecraft. It only gives me about 25 fps, the fps my integrated card gave me. Any help?
Don't open to many tabs I do is I do not have anything running except minecraft :smile.gif: or get a faster computer :smile.gif: I suggest iMac or macbook its expensive but worth getting :smile.gif: you can even transfer to windows version on your mac :smile.gif:

Dude, my computer is AT LEAST 5 times better than a Mac right now. Quit trolling bro, Macs suck compared to PCs

GTFO if you don't know what you're talking about. It's not that his computer is lacking, it is better than almost all (if not all) Macintosh computers, including the Pro.
It's a weird bug that I have honestly never heard of. Try updating drivers, but I guess you've already done that... maybe check stuff out in the BIOS.
Isn't there a thing where you need to tell your PC to run specific programs off dedicated graphics rather than integrated graphics? Try right clicking MC and looking at settings, try right clicking the desktop and go to graphics properties/options.
Exactly what I was thinking, I just didn't know how.
I'll also look at (if any) OpenGL and GFX card settings in the BIOS, ImThat1Guy.

What cpu are you running maybe that is bottlenecking your graphics card.
Plus minecraft hardly uses the graphics card at all my 6970 only hits 1% usage while running minecraft.
Also OpenGl standards are set by the Khronos Group it has all the large tech company's in it decided the standards together.

There's no bottleneck, he posted a thread before this asking the same question which has his computer specs in it.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
Hmm, it seems that AMD CCC just doesn't classify Minecraft as a game worth putting all the 6870's power into... While playing Minecraft, the clock stays at 300 while while playing CoD it goes up to 900. Any ideas?

That should hardly even matter, your cpu will be doing most of the work. My 5570 is more than enough to run Minecraft even with a Phenom II X3 cpu.

Not a big deal tho I probbly wouldent play minecraft if it was not for optifine tho.
I'm guessing you have a much older processor then or something because if you have a newer processor with a 6950, there's no reason you should only be getting 60 fps. I also don't use Optifine either so that should be taken into consideration.

Got an Athlon x3 and I know it is slow and old But before that I had a Pentium 4 and I just got what I could with my money at the time im hoping to get a new cpu this Christmas.

increases your FPS tenfold. its an excellent mod, i love it.
By which company are OpenGL standards made? (probably stupid question)

Yeah, but in total, I get only 60 frames D:
Sorry I can't really help you with this problem, that would suck knowing you can play MW3 but not Minecraft.
My 6970 only gets about 65-75 fps so if your 6870 is getting 60 that sounds abotu right.
With what settings? I can easily get 80+ fps on far, fast, and smooth lighting on with just a 5570.
Far fancy and smooth lighting.
