i havn't played GTA V (of course) and i won't for a long while yet (won't be a PC port for a long time)
so between GTA IV and SRIV i think they're both great.
On one hand you got two games that both allow you to screw around and do whatever you please.
On the other hand, one tries to be realistic, while then other knows it is a game and won't act otherwise.

Graphics and realism aren't everything. If graphics and realism were important then why would you play Minecraft? Anyway Saints Row because more over-the-top.
They're different games. Comparing them directly against each other doesn't make sense. GTA is more realistic as to the actual life of a street gang member, while Saints Row is just a complete fantasy.
They are the only two franchises that share the specific genre what other game is a sandbox open world city roaming third person shooter with various types of vehicles? Its sad that there isn't more options when you have 100+ games in the FPS arena genre alone. Watch Dogs is the only one I can think of and its not even out yet.
Good job True crime does fit that doesn't it... However there is still very few franchises that follow the same formula compared to others. Also Sleeping dogs could possibly be used when talking about "realistic"

and its sad that all the gta clones like mafia arent open world and mafia is just a big. Mission
I don't really like one over the other honestly.
Though on first premise saints row and GTA look a lot alike, when you play them you realise they're not. At all.
I like GTA's "realism", but Saints row (3 and 4) is great because you never know what to expect - as everything is possible.
With GTA you know that you're probably going to go on a mission where you have to drive to a place, kill some people and you're done, whereas with Saints Row at any time you can get a mission that shoots you up in space, downloads you into the internet to fight in cyberspace or do something else crazy. It makes no sense, but it's really fun.
Saints Row's missions have the same premise, drive to a place and start shooting people. The only difference is that you can do it naked with a Shark Bait gun in Saints Row.

GTA IV
-go to quest marker
-get told to do somthing for cash
-drive to mission
-go kill somone
-drive back
-end mission
SRIV
-get told to talk to somone
-download consciousness from a matrix
-talk to them in what we assume is real life
-go back into matrix
-go into a matrix/s sub matrix
-save team member from something in the past, from giant soda cans, to a 2D street fighter shooter
-end mission.
one tries to be realistic. the other tries to be a game.

Also, if your going to type in someone's quote, bold your letters so your words can be easily seen from the original.

GTA IV
-go to quest marker (Who is the most extreme stereotype you can think of in both voice and what or where they are doing)
-get told to do somthing for cash (Which ranges from something from burning weed farms, entering area 52 to get a jetpack to having BSDM night)
-drive to mission (Passing Cluckin bells, 1000 prostitutes,
-go kill somone (with your big dildo)
-drive back (Going by burgur shots and possibly reciving calls from your cousin who is obsessed with big american TITTIES!"
-end mission (Then go with your cousin to the big american tittiy club)
SRIV
-get told to talk to somone
-download consciousness from a matrix

If we are talking about the latest sequels, I would probably say I prefer GTA V over Saints Row IV.

Probably Saints Row though if I had to pick.
