I recently bought it off Steam during their winter sale; I was actually able to get it, Portal, and Portal 2 for $12 in total, was pretty sweet! Gotten a decent amount of mileage off all three of them. I did a few let's play videos on AOS ( was going to do some on the Portal games but they didn't play well with my computer with fraps on ) and I've found myself loving the game for all it's worth, have yet to run into spawn campers/hackers or anything and the gameplay's good so personally I love it and would suggest it to anybody who likes FPS games!
I honestly don't see the big hate. I picked it up during the Christmas sales and I have 12 hours played, it's a good game. Not the "greatest game of all time" but it's fun, especially with friends... when we dig out whole islands and collapse them.
Seriously though, I've never understood why people made such a big fuss about it. Before it was out on steam it was just a generally ugly and unpolished game. And now it's out on steam, different from the original (and neater) and people are complaining about it. Same title, different people working on the project; obviously the game is going to have some changes.
The fact that people actually build in it, and there are private servers (Meaning no lag) - makes it an infinitely better game. Infinitely better. Jagex sucks.
I'm not disagreeing at all about Jagex; I've never seen them not completely ruin something. AOS is an exception in my mind; saw it on Steam for $3 or something like that during the winter sale and figured I may as well buy it. Don't regret it at all.
Building, however, is completely pointless. That's definitely something that needs working on, imo.

In build and shoot, it's actually viable to build towers to snipe your enemies in. It's also wise to build turret lines as you inch towards the enemy base. It's basically what Ace of Space was, and should've been before Jagex got a their grubby mitts on it.
Anybody else enjoy the game too?

I think they got half the quote right. "Extremely hard to resist binning it." Eh, it's an okay game. Got potential if developed right.
Venit, quessit, induravit.
