my friend sead that is would be impossible but i do not think it is very possible. I have no way of getting this idea out to the many game devs thet there are.
I think we need this in a game but why has it not been created and don't say wurm online because that is just the start of this idea anyway that game is just to complicated to be what i mean survival.
what i mean by survival is like you could go chop down a tree and acualy place it somewhere
and what i mean by the graphics of skyrim is that it is not all blocky.
i know i will never be abled to dev it my self so i just home that someone important like bethesda or like some big gamimg company sees this.
Just so hope my god that the person that creates a game like this does not make it with java.
the only game I can think of that is somehow close to what you are saying is blockscape, got good graphics, the flora is even better than skyrim's IMO(though that doesnt say much...)
Though the landscape isn't completely smooth, but the graphics are still very pretty :>

yea a game like that but with pshyics and survival?yea sure go ahead and throw a texture pack at mc but still have the blocks what i mean is like a game as fine scale paned as skyrim.
I need to grow up?
I pretty much stated, who wants to recode Minecraft for the sake of having physics and 3d models? This is most likely impossible your going to need to have physics for cutting down trees which will then need to fall down/realisticly break. That require a lot of polys, wouldn't it?
Also, what about fire? What happens when lots of people start using this at once? For example, a forest fire, the fire might burn the wood at the bottom, the tree will need to fall and break into more polys with more fire. And imagine this happening with a lot more trees.
And you never answered why this developer shouldn't use Java...
Wurm online is a pretty good survival game. It has no physics to speak of though, but it has photorealistic graphics (not to great on the actors, though) and smooth landscapes. Haven't played it in a while and I should jump on it when I got the chance.
It's also F2P with member bonuses, the coolest thing is: you can actually get the memberships for free, all you need is five silver coins; so you just need to find a way to get a steady flow of silver coins.
It's not huge on players, but has at least 1k on a server (whichis a landmass, and you can travel between by going through certain portals or SAILING [yes, fricken' sailing] by boat to the edges of the map)
I don't think it's possible. Or very difficult, anyways. See, think of it like this: Minecraft has blocky graphics because it's the easiest to modify. You wouldn't be able to modify it that easy in graphics like Skyrim or Far Cry 3.

Just throw the fking blockyness away this will mainly be based off a game with a-lot of world shards
Giving the requirements of the sugested game, Skyrim graphics would be just fine. Deformable terrain isn't really all that easy when it comes to graphics. Also, Skyrim can look gorgeous with some applied ENB.
i dont think they would have to add a deform terrain mode the way they have mining now like you go out with a pickaxe and mine a vein of iron i think that is perfect i just think simple flattening terrain would be fine

they alrady have done with wurm online look it up jsut it is not as simple as minecraft because the way they coded it not the way the game. they could have easly made it easer.

That still isn't nearly as nice as Skyrim's graphics.
But more importantly, why did you even bother to make this thread if you're so confident about this? Just to rub it in our faces?
If you knew a game like this existed, then why did you make a thread asking if a game like this existed?

I really want to punch you in the face, you are probably 10 telling people to grow up, really? I think Minecraft with Skyrim graphics would be a bad idea..I that's what makes Minecraft "Minecraft"! IMHO
Do you even know hwat it means to 'throw the blockiness away' is? It means you have to model every thing to make it look realistic. Then physics and building along with destroying would be super hardware intensive. And again, you still never explained why it shouldn't be coded in Java.

But in terms of a survival game with the graphics there's little to no option
there is a engine with near photorealistic graphics, randomly generated landscapes which look abnormaly real, and it does have the potential to be a survival game(world is made of voxels) But I cant seem to find it
Edit: GOT IT!
Also here is a game that will be more of a shooter, but it has neat graphics and destructible terrain:

Unless, you want story/gameplay/etc which in that case I don't know
Indeed, so many low resolution meshes.
Re: Nevermind. But your spelling and grammar may still need a bit of work.
