You shuold try to get somebody to do some great ASCII art for you.
I think that there would be interest in a more close-up version too, with a little more ASCII art and some limited animations. At least I would be interested.
I'm gonna make something interesting for the intro to the game.
Pretzels! I didn't come up with 10 new ideas, but I figured I'd give you these (I'm doing finals in school so I haven't had a lot of time to think)(O and sorry if I accidentally give you an idea i already did :D)

Look like: Spiders
Where: Anywhere at all times

Look like: Cats made out of cactus
Where: In sandy places
Group: 1-4

NPC:
Look like: Any mob
Where: Everywhere
Group: Varies
Hostile: Depends, if the monster is in fact an NPC and not the regular mob it will drop rare things if it is a hostile and poison if it is a friendly mob
Farmers:
Look like: Farmers
Where: Grassy areas
Group: 1-2
Hostile: No, will sometimes give you food to eat
Ghosts:

Lizards:
Look like: Lizards

Owls:
Look like: Owls
Where: Trees at night
Group: 1

Other ideas:
Vision Glasses:
What: Glasses that let you see hidden things in certain texts. Including, but not limited to: The Gods locations on the back page of the Priest's Great Book
How: Kill the Priest and take his glasses, or find a Genie and wish for them
Sound Checker:
What:Shows nearby sounds (Can be used to detect if a mob is an actual mob or a NPC also, and when near an owl hoot pitches tell you how far away the Time Keeper is (higher = close, lower = far)
How: Kill 2 owls, then use the beaks over your ears and you can see the sound checker on screen)

This is SOMETHING! I have been looking for a non-wanna-be thread for too long!
Its a shame that you are a single handed developer, as this project could go deathly far! I hope to see lots of updates and if you want, you can talk to me on Skype, just go to my profile and it will be there.
Sweet Jesus, I WANT A PET OWL.
Once school ends for me (5/24/12) I'll have a lot of time to develop over the summer and talk to people!
OK so some ideas. These are more hmmm how the game is type of ideas (i guess? xD you might as well just read it)
Idea for weapons/armor/crafting:
You can collect resources (similar to minecraft), but instead of a crafting table you have recipes. You go and collect the amount of items you need for a certain recipe, and when you have it you are able to click on the now lit up recipe and get your item.
Ideas for different game modes:
Quest Adventure:
You travel from town to town in a pre-made world, getting quests, defeating bosses, etc. In this mode you start off with a limited amount of recipes, but you unlock more as you progress through quests. There would also be Quest Adventure only things.
Pure Adventure:
You travel in a randomly generated world, collecting resources, building things, etc. In this mode you start off with every recipe available, but this also means certain monsters, etc. won't be in this mode. There would also be Pure Adventure only things.
Questy Pure Adventure:
You travel in a randomly generated world with towns spawned at random locations. You start off with every recipe, but all the bosses and monsters from Quest Adventure are in this mode. Contains the special items of both Quest Adventure and Pure Adventure.
Hope you like those ideas, I'll start thinking up some weapons/armor/more items soon!

Okay, I like it! I'm doing a complete makeover of the game which should improve performance and thus more frequent updates
Next release, if all goes well, should be in a week! This will include many big features, such as:
-Menu's
-Better Terrain Generation
-Block Physics
-Better GUI
-Saving/Loading
-And a couple other cool things I don't want to spoil...
Progress Update
--------------------
I've been working really hard on the game, completely redesigning the code. It should run really smooth when the next update come out which will be in a week maybe less. Also a ton of new features and improvements!
Progress Update 2
--------------------
Been working hard on all the new features. Will take a little longer (a week) because I'm using different libraries to do the rendering and I'm still learning how they work. Enjoy 0.3.b for now
Can you add an direct DL? AdFly doesn't work for me I'd wait 5 secs but it redirects me to this page - http://adf.ly/blocked.html
I dont use any adblocker software i don't know what's happening
Okay thank you, I'm working on the game adding block updates, other enemies and animals, saving/loading maps, inventory system, and some behind the scenes stuff like performance improvements
posting 0.3.a in a few minutes!

OK so before I actually start thinking of weapons, will you be adding those game modes? If you are I could think of some quests to
I don't know, I'll have to see how the game turns out to see if it will be possible.
