Well, I have been browser based text RPGs and such for quiet a few years. Recently I have found a new one that I quiet enjoy. It is call Land of Nevard 2.0 or LoN2 for short. It is a mid-evil fantasy themed game. There are many monsters to kill. You can join guilds, each with their special bonuses. You can level up and continually buy new equipment. It has a wonderful community.

Any one else have any online games they play?
sometimes I play a really obscure game called minecraft. You probably haven't heard of it yet.
I started out playing text games back with Zork. I played Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, both of those were back on my C64. When I finally got a computer in 1999, the first thing I did was start looking for text games.
That was when I stumbled upon MUD's.
I played one for 5 years and another one for a bit over a year. A few others I put a few months into.
I actually enjoy them more than almost all of the graphical games I have played. I have definitely put in more hours on MUDs than I have on any other game.
Just as a book will always be better than a movie or tv show, a text based adventure game will be better(IMO) than a graphical adventure game. Text games rely on your imagination. Graphical games you are forced to see the world through the eyes of somebody else.
Pool of Radiance and Demon's Souls are the only graphical games that have even come close for me in the enjoyment that I felt for the MUD's I played.
Trying to get games written for windows to work on a Linux machine is like trying to put a diaper on an incontinent buffalo. Sure, you might get it all done, but you'll certainly be left with a huge mess, and it's very time consuming.

I enjoy playing IF's but MUD's not so much.
to those who grieve
when thoughts keep drifting
as walls keep shifting
and this great blue world of ours
seems a house of leaves
moments before the wind.
