I step out of my families house and say "Another day in Gravity Falls." I say before letting out a sigh "Where nothing interesting ever happens. I start to take a walk into town when something starts to vibrate in my pocket. "What the?" I say before pulling out a cats eye locket that my grandma bought from the Oddity Hut. "Why is this stupid thing vibrating?" I question, starting to shake the amulet that my grandma thought would look nice on me. After shaking it for a while the amulet finally stopped shaking. "Finally"I say resuming my walk to the town when I hear barking coming from a nearby bush. "Must be someones dog" I say walking towards the bush, when a deer jumps out of the bush, barks three times, then rushes back into the bush. I stand there for a while before looking at the amulet and saying "No way" I shake my head before walking into the town to play some games at the arcade to try and clear my mind of what just happened.

"Mom? Do we really have to go?" I asked her as we loaded the last of our luggage into the truck. "Yes, it's for the best, Olive." she replied, holding a heavy box. My dad caught up to me in our conversation, "Our boss is there, and our new jobs too. We have to, Olive." he smiled and texted something into his phone. "What about my things and my friends?" I asked. "Olive, honey, face it." my mother said, combing my hair with her hand, "I'm sorry to say this, but you only had Emily. Your best friend who moved school a year ago. You'll make many new friends, you'll finally meet my sister!" she squealed with joy. "Fine," I finally agreed, I took a book titled: Travels Guide to Gravity Falls, Oregon, from my bag. If I was living in a place I didn't know about, I better start knowing. We got into the car a few minutes later and left.
Arriving At Gravity Falls
After two days, we finally arrived at the house of my Aunt Sally and my cousins Hunter and Celeste. They were already asleep, but I had a nice, heart dinner with my Aunt and her husband Charlie. They are very kind and everything, but I don't like being here. When I went to bed tonight, I shut the windows and closed the curtains. I was being paranoid again, but I felt like something was watching me. I took my book I read earlier and a flashlight. I hid under my covers and read.
The Next Morning
I had a light breakfast the next day, I wasn't that hungry after dinner last night. Hunter and Celeste ate a lot and were very much active, they didn't seem shy, but I sure was. Hunter was only ten and Celeste was only eleven. They wouldn't understand me exactly, they kept saying funny things at the table. I didn't get a thing though, but they left the Dining Room in fits of laughter. "I just don't get it," I told my dad.
"Come back at 12 for lunch, be safe." my mother told me. I took my bag with me and undressed from my pajamas and wore my usual clothing. Red and white cap with my favorite matching sneakers, a brown jacket over my black shirt and jeans. I set out and the wind whipped against my jacket, I wanted to explore, so I took out my journal and pen and started jotting down whatever I saw. I walked until I saw a little shack. A sign hung above the doorway, written in paint: ODDITY HUT. I was interested and once I entered, a man came out to greet me. "Hello, are you interested in any of my, items?" he gestured to the walls, which held bookshelves with many different items and tables covered with a diverse amount of his items. "Wow," I muttered under my breath and the man smiled, going behind his counter once again.
I looked around the room, I had to buy one thing! There was a pile of books in one corner, they seem awfully familiar, like deja vu. Sadly, I only had enough money for one. They were priced awfully high. I saw an old dusty book, lined with fading gold and covered with a blue cover. At the bottom of a large pile. The man came to my aid and took the book from the bottom, rubbed it to make sure most of the dust was gone and handed it to me. "Here, you are one of my first customers, I give you this. At a lessened price." he smiled. "Thirty bucks, originally a hundred."
I fished out the money I had, and I gave it to him. He handed me the heavy book. I almost dropped it, if I don't work out, well sooooooorry. "Thank you for your convenience." he smiled again and disappeared behind the counter. "Thank You?" But he was already gone.
I shrugged and walked out the door, I didn't open the book yet, but I walked home and hid the book from my mom. If she knew I spent my money on a book like this, she'd freak. I managed, hid it under my pillow. "Olive? Are you back so soon?" she called. "Yeah, mom!" I called back. "It's lunch time, come to the Dining Room!" "Sure, mom!"

The newspaper ad contained no pictures, but wasn't very suspicious to Jake. The Mystery Shack always had fake stuff except for that one time when they brought in the Gremloblin. Whatever happened to that thing? Anyway, Jake decided to go check it out.
Sitting on the long, yet crowded, bus, Terry barely had enough room to move his elbows. He sighed as he pulled out his notepad from his backpack. The cover was a cyan blue, covered in bronze patterns. "Might as well, it's gonna be a while." Terry murmered as he started doodling random thoughts on blank pages.
((It's gonna be a while (a couple hours) until I can post again, so see you until then!))
My father was at his seat, reading the newspaper as usual. My mother and my aunt were talking about "What we should do here," and "All the fun activities we'd have." While Hunter picked at his food as Celeste scolded him repeatedly. Boy, my first day here and it's already becoming complicated. "Hey Olive," he said, "Yes, dad?" I replied. "Look what's on the news, seems like you'd be interested?" I stood from my chair to walk to my dad. A newspaper add said:
The Oddity Hut!
Home of thousands of objects, wonders, and well... oddities of which the world have never known! So come on down 1020 Cascade Lane and unveil a world of mystery!
"Sounds cool, huh? I think we should go there sometime, but there are no pictures." I had already gone there, so I didn't want to mention anything to my dad. "I'm full," I said. "But dear, you haven't finished your lunch!" my mom pointed out. "I'll, i'll eat it later." I exited the room and scurried through the doors and hallways into my own room. I locked the door. I might seem suspicious to them, not that they would care, but I had some feeling. It told me not to tell anything to them, so I didn't. But I had to have someone at my side. Who would understand?
I took the book from under my pillow and swept the dust on its cover with my hand, onto the floor. I tried to open it, but it wouldn't open. It must be really, really old to not open, I thought. Maybe it is stuck. I left it, I was too tired to attempt to open a book without tearing it. Another feeling. Now, it told me to go back to the Oddity Hut. I would meet someone?
Who? I though. Where was this felling coming from? I shrugged and went back into the dining room and took my plate onto the kitchen table. "Here to finish your lunch?" my mother asked. "No, not really. Here to pack it, I'm going out again." I put my leftovers into a plastic container and stuffed it in my bag. I was almost out the door when my aunt added, "Oh, Olive?" "Yes, Aunty Sally?" I asked her. "I was wondering, could you bring Hunter and Celeste with you? 'Bought time you had some time together. Would you mind?" I thought abut it, and I shook my head. "Excellent! They already have their things.
Still holding the newspaper, Jake walked down from his house to Cascade Lane.
1026. 1024. 1022. Aha! 1020, he thought as he passed by all of the buildings. A long pathway led down to the building for the Oddity Hut, which looked like an abandoned shack. When he walked inside, he noticed the place was bigger on the inside than on the outside. He quickly stepped back out and slipped out his journal and started a new page for the Oddity Hut. He wrote down what he had just saw.
He walked inside and took a good look around the room. There wasn't anything but the shelves and the counter. Something caught Jake's eye on the shelf more than anything. It was a plastic magnifying glass. Even the glass was fake.
Glass of Truth, the tag said. It was only a dollar, but then he noticed somebody with strange golden dog leash. As soon as it was put onto the dog, the dog was rushing out the door faster than he had seen any dog go. He wrote that down in his journal, too. He took the Glass of Truth and walked up to the counter.
"Hey there! The name's Harry!" Harry, the man at the counter, said, "I see you've found an item of interest. Of course, there's tons more things you can buy here at the Oddity Hut! Happy shopping!"
Jake practically ignored every word Harry had said and left as soon as he had finished purchasing. It was time to test this thing out.
Just as I arrived with Hunter and Celeste, a boy who looked my age, left. Have I seen him before? No, no I haven't. "What's your name again?" Celeste asked. Finally, they were talking to me. "I'm Olivia. You two, can call me Olive." "Olive? You mean like the tree? Ha!" she laughed. "Very funny?" I asked, what was I supposed to say? We entered the Oddity Hut again, the two of them looked around right as we went through the doorway, zooming around the merchandise. The man, again, came out to greet us. "Oh, hello again! I see you have brought me two customers. I forgot to introduce myself last time." He shook my hand. "I'm Harry, but you can call me Harry. Anything you see and want?" he asked eagerly. "Not yet." "Okay," he said again, returning to the counter. "Take your time."
I was feeling generous today, so I made the mistake of saying, "Hey Celeste! Hunter! Come here for a moment." And as they came to me, I told them, "Why don't you pick one item from the store, if it isn't too expensive, I'll buy it." The two squealed and started picking things at random and trying them out. "Be careful!" I added.
I went exploring more in the shop, and I noticed that, they had only one of everything. How, strange. I waited outside and eat my leftover lunch. After a few minutes of running and choosing, Celeste and Hunter both came up to me things. "Wow," I said, looking at what they chose. Celeste had chosen sandals. They were in a style I had never seen before and looked slightly Greek. She really, really wanted it and I bought it for her. Hunter had chosen a long cloak, a bit too big for his size. But he could use it for many other things and I got it for him. I told them they could only use it after they were both washed and clean.
At Home
Once we got home, they showed the things to their mom, my aunt. She was happy to see them happy and thanked me. Afterwards, I took a nice warm shower and changed. It was already five pm right now and dinner would be in two hours.
Again, I took the book from my pillow and this time, it opened with ease. The insides shone and were in the best quality, untouched? They words flew from the pages and the pages weren't pages. They were scrolls put in a book! The words turned from english to languages I didn't understand. I closed it immediately.

"Hm. Sounds kinda like the Mystery Shack. I'll go check it out" Jon said, reading the newspaper. He headed out to check out the Oddity Hut.

Going to the arcade almost took my mind off the amulet, almost. When I walked out of the arcade, the amulet started to vibrate again. "Oh what now" I say pulling out the amulet, but instead of shaking it I let it vibrate. Looking up I see the animals are starting to act weird. Dogs started to walk on their hind legs, birds started to act like cats in the nearby pet store, and I swore I saw a pig wearing a bedazzled sweater. "Why is this happening?" I say thinking out loud before nearly dropping the amulet when I swore I saw it wink at me. "Okay, I'm taking you back right now" I say storming off towards the Oddity Hut. Unfortunately for me when I got there, he wouldn't give me a refund, however he would trade me for something else in the store. Picking out the most normal looking item in there, a normal looking flashlight that had three different settings for some reason, I stormed out of the Oddity Hut with the flashlight in hand. When I walked into my families house my mother asked me "How was your day sweetie" Sweetie, I hated that nickname ever since I was eight, but my mother insists on calling me that whenever she speaks to me. "It was fine Mom" I say putting on a fake smile and hiding the flashlight behind my back. "I'll be upstairs if you need me." I said running upstairs to my room. "Okay, Dinner will be ready in a few minutes." I heard my mom say, before I closed my door shut dropping my fake smile. I looked at the flashlight before throwing it on my bed, it landing on the switch. I sat on my bed for a few minutes when I hear my mom call me down for dinner. Sighing I stand up, open my door and walk downstairs to eat dinner.

What just happened? The room was silent again. What just happened with the book? I forced it shut, threw it across the room and hid under the covers of my bed. Where was the "THUNK!" of the book hitting the wall and landing on the floor? I peeped out and fainted.
***TWO HOURS LATER***
"Oh," I groaned. "Where am I?" Oh, I was still in my bedroom, what was I doing here? Was it night already? "Olivia!" I heard through my door, followed with a series of "KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!" at my door. My mom. "Time for dinner!" she went away and the knocking disappeared. I stood up and yawned. I looked at the floor before I opened the door, there was no book. I checked under my pillow, it was there. "Oh," I said to myself. "It was just a dream." I opened the door and stumbled into the Dining Room.
Glass of truth, huh? One time my parents said they gave me "gold nuggets" when I was little, but they were just rocks painted gold. I went home and looked at one of them through the glass. Through it, I only saw the rock and not the color of the paint. This thing actually worked. ((Switching to first-person. It's easier))
"Are you okay, dear?" my mother said, standing beside me to help me up. "You just tumbled into the room!" Now everyone was looking at me. "Yeah, just dreams. Still dizzy, I guess." I replied dumbly. "Oh, okay then. Take a seat." I took a seat beside Celeste, still smiling. I noticed she was already wearing her sandals and Hunter was wearing his cloak as a blanket. "I see you are enjoying what you bought." I told them, and they both looked at me. "Yeah!" Replied Hunter, "Finally! I can play superhero! I don't need to fly or have laser vision. I just want to be able to trick people. In, in a good way." he smiled and continued eating his fried chicken. We all enjoyed talking about our day, and Aunty Sally told us about the cool things here in Gravity Falls. About Pacifica Northwest's family and the founder of Gravity Falls: Nathaniel Northwest. Who was actually a fraud and brings discredit to her entire family. Stuff like that. I had totally forgot about my dream.

((sorry if it is long))

The newspaper ad contained no pictures, but wasn't very suspicious to Jake. The Mystery Shack always had fake stuff except for that one time when they brought in the Gremloblin. Whatever happened to that thing? Anyway, Jake decided to go check it out.

Soon, we all left the house and into the town.
1026. 1024. 1022.

What just happened? The room was silent again. What just happened with the book? I forced it shut, threw it across the room and hid under the covers of my bed. Where was the "THUNK!" of the book hitting the wall and landing on the floor? I peeped out and fainted.
